    WTB 8700/K ITX Combo

Looking to replace the core of my VR machine. The 1700X is not performing as well as I'd hoped in the titles I like. Specifically need CPU and mobo. If you're including RAM I'll buy if I like it, but it's not required. K is optional. Prefer mobo with WiFi but will go without for the right...

    Alternatives to Corsair Commander?

I don't have experience with the Octo, though I trust it. Looks like it would be easier to mount for sure. The Aquaero can't be sticky-taped, as both sides are exposed PCB.

    Alternatives to Corsair Commander?

It's a simple 4-hole pattern and the board includes standoffs and mounting screws. Find a location you like and drill some holes! =)

Car radiator coolant instead of water?

Just be sure not to use any glycol coolants in a loop with PETG. It will melt the tubes.

First time WCing in... 16 years? Help me get started - can you 'bypass' the GPU until later?

And I am a prime example of why you need to read threads and not just thread titles. 😁 You're right, if you're wanting to hold off because we're on the cusp of a new generation then that makes perfect sense. My bad.

First time WCing in... 16 years? Help me get started - can you 'bypass' the GPU until later?

A little late to the party, but if you game and you're thinking of leaving your GPU out of the loop at first, I would consider doing the opposite. Watercool your graphics card first - it will benefit from the additional cooling far more than your CPU will anyway. Plus, after you've installed a...

    Alternatives to Corsair Commander?

I can't say if you can dim the display, because mine doesn't have one. There's only four models - the 5 and the 5LT are the old generation. The 6 and the 6LT are current. LT in the model number means no display. The software is phenomenal. Just to give you an idea of what you can do with it...

    Alternatives to Corsair Commander?

Aquacomputer. Their flagship Aquaero is what the Commander and Grid wish they were.

Is there a single water cooler additive out there that won't gunk up your system over time?

That gunk kinda looks like flux residue from radiators. Did you give those radiators a flush when you put them into service? Some brands come pretty clean from the factory but others (like Alphacool, for example) ship chock full of flux that needs cleaned out before you use them. Mayhem's Blitz...

Is there a single water cooler additive out there that won't gunk up your system over time?

How long was that loop running with that coolant? Were you doing maintenance (flushes and refills) on any sort of schedule? You mentioned a 10% solution, was that the directions on the Mayhem's product?

Rethinking my Ncase M1 WC build to just use a big external 9x120mm radiator (MO-RA3) Pros/Cons?

The passive cooling capacity of the 420 version is listed at 200 watts. So in theory you could cool a system that way, but I think the problem you'd encounter is flow. These rads a super restrictive, just by nature of their size. My D5 can only barely manage 1gpm at 100% speed. I think with two...

Rethinking my Ncase M1 WC build to just use a big external 9x120mm radiator (MO-RA3) Pros/Cons?

Depends on the "whole purpose," which will vary by person.
