Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Like squeaky said, the school's computers are probably running one on DVI and one on VGA. DVI is going to look substantially richer and all-around better, which would account for the difference in qualities. If you've got a new(er) video card like the ever-popular 4850, it's probably running...
To anybody that's got a FP241VW, I've got a quick question. Is the panel fixed more or less permanently in the mount, or is it possible to remove it and put it on something like an articulated arm?
Can't run any full-screen game and interact with the second monitor. Windowed you'll still have to deal with only being able to interact with the one program at a time. It's one incredibly irritating flaw about most OSes when you're dealing with multiple monitors.
@ azure: Try to get some Panaflos, L1As if you're into low noise. Alternatively, the U1As are loud as balls but pump out some insane CFMs.
@ clesven: Are you sure you have the standoffs in the right places?
Don't sue me if this is wrong, but I -think- the reason why the expansion slots aren't lining up is due to some screwy (heh) stand-offs. That's the only thing I've heard of to fix it. Seeing as how CM has a pretty decent rep, I can't quite believe they'd have that big of a manufacturing defect...
I'm straining my brain trying to figure out how, if it is possible at all, to fit a 120x3 rad into an 830. I COULD go with 2 120x2s in the side panel, but I'm a bit leary about putting that much weight on a plastic bracket.
I hate you :( . I've been meaning to make a custom desk for myself, but since I don't have any space to work in (last workspace was in an old mill building, and was bought out, turning it into condos  ). Got a $300 DeWalt table saw sitting in storage, mint from Christmas '04. Oh well...
I think 'most people' 'get the interpretation' that it's way too expensive, and leave it at that. The Vento is an abomination, pure and simple. Sorta like the Pontiac Aztec. Then you've got the 830. Yes, it's really huge. Yes, it's made of aluminum. But there is a very, very big difference...
Oh shti!
And for Toast's question: It's not as much a matter of functionality (which it still has in spades, being a Stacker) as it is of style. Honestly, it's priced _way_ too high to be a "utility" case like the originals and the 810s are. But, for those of us who like a well-designed...
Yeah, next mod for me is definitely going to be an 830. Cut out the mesh in the door, remove the fan rack, pop a piece of plexi where the mesh was. Add 6 stand-off bolts (custom machined aluminum if I can get 'em) around the corners and put another etched piece of plexi with LEDs in the bolts to...
Chenbro Gaming Bomb II (Good god I wish they still made these)
Coolermaster Stacker 830
The Gaming Bomb has that G5 look, but better. And as for the Stacker, well what can I say? It's huge, made of aluminum, and costs a ridiculous amount of money.
Umm... I dunno what you're thinking, but the Stackers have 4-in-3 modules as well. Comes with one, and you can buy the two others. Same deal, HD cage with a 120 mounted on the front.
