So, I got myself a nice new rv01, replaced my sff case, i was sad to see it go but the 6990 i just got dumps so much heat into the case i had to something drastic. All is fine, built it all, got it all working, only to realize that due to the setup of this case, the 6990 is now intaking majority...

rampage iii gene, i7 970, temps according to realtemp around the 70 to 80c mark, 1.26250v fed to the cpu, testing with prime95 64bit under load realtemp shows the frequency dropping back a bit, im using 160whatever*25 for the current settings for it but no matter what it keeps dropping back...

WHY OH FREAKING WHY ASUS!!! i really wish people would stop messing with the basic concept of the reference cooler where nearly ALL the heat from the card is dumped out the back of the case (ok some isnt but majority is), i would be first inline to buy a pair of these if they wouldnt mess up...

well, according to the lcd poster the nb is hitting 84c and when i reboot the bios bitches that its overheating so... shrug if i dont use the gpu's i can run all 8 cores flat out without issue but if i use the gpu's flat out as well as 8 cores flat out, the nb just goes nuts on me temp wise...

ok here the problem, i leave boinc runnin on this system in the background normally with seti and mw running, however it turns out that if i use mroe than 3 of the 8 cores available with seti the nb overheats, so i either limit seti to 3 cores or turn off mw so as the nb doesnt overheat on me...
