    I am running one right now at 950/1000 no problems whatsoever. Open-air bench though. I will probably get around to putting it in a case when the excitement wears off ;) I will update if/when I get better results. Literally just plugged it in and set it to 950/1000 right out of the gate.

    The 9600GT will typically be better than the HD4670, but the 9600GT is hard to find for below $100, whereas the HD4670 is readily available everywhere for $80 or less. Also, I can tell you definitively that the 4670 will absolutely own CS:S.

    Yes, it is just a barebones adapter, there are no brand restrictions. Same thing as DVI to d-sub adapters.

    The 260 and 280 probably won't fit, as they remain fat the entire length of the card along the bottom. The 4870 on the other hand curves up (end of the heatsink) well before where those SATA connectors are, so you wouldn't have a problem with clearance on the 4870. Hope this helps! -ttn
