What will you do with your Sandy Bridge board?

RMA process with ASUS was awesome. I should have my new p8p67 today. I plan to hold on to it until the new boards come out in a few more months and then I will exchange it according to whatever the plans are on the recall.

!@$# p8p67 pro red light on cpu on first boot.

I am having the same problem with my P8P67 Pro board. Worst problem is I cant seem to RMA the dang thing or get any help from the retailer right now. Everyone is so slammed with calls about the SATA port recall those of us with real problems are sitting in the dark with no working machine.

    ASUS P8P67 Pro/2600k - Can't boot an o/s

If you have a friend or someone with the same CPU I would try a swap really quick and rule that out. It may just be that your CPU is happy in DOS tests but hates running specific commands in the windows environment.

    Problem installing Windows to P8P67

I recommend testing a different set of ram on the board. If you were having memtest errors most likely your board and ram are not happy partners.

Sandy Bridge.... Fresh install or just upgrade

Always do a fresh install. Its a good excuse to get rid of all the crap and guarantees you will have a machine that runs well with the new hardware (that is assuming the hardware is good).

What will you do with your Sandy Bridge board?

Mine was holding up great until the 1204 bios update killed it. Kinda wish I had just been happy with a running machine as returning it or RMA's seem to be a nightmare now with the recall.

Official ASUS P8P67 Series Overclocking Guide and Information

I went with the 100x50 overclock on my 2500k and it is very stable even when running prime95 etc. My temp is usually about 32-25c when surfing or idling and about 43-48 when gaming.

    Updating Bios

I suggest you wait a week or so after a new update to make sure no new bugs crop up. If your system is stable and not having any issues, no bios update is really needed unless you want the latest updates. Not all bios updates address major issues and are very specific to a need on the board.

    sandry bridge motherbvoard rma question

It would be a shame to have all these boards just go to waste. I could put together some great systems for people that would never use 8 sata ports.

Newegg TV: Sandy Bridge Design Issue Explanation & Workaround

I have never had a computer that I have resold. I keep em till they are done or give them away to friends and family. If your computer is working fine you may as well not be in a hurry to be without a motherboard. Just wait until the new boards are out, read some reviews on them see if they...

    An Open Letter From ASUS

The hard part with retailers is that most of them have pulled the remaining stock and sent it back to the distributors. I have a dead board with a bad bios on it and cant send it back to the retailer or they will just hold on to it until the new boards are released in a month. Kinda frustrating.

    ASUS P8P67 6gb Ports

I suggest you use your hard drives on the good ports and optical drives on the crap ports if necessary.

ASUS Policy on Cougar Point based MBs? (Intel Recall)

Would be nice if I had some local joint like Fry's close by so I could go walk in and exchange. Alas, nothing local for me.

My temporary solution for the Intel design defect.

Thats the same setup I am running as well. I figure if the optical drive is on a bad port, oh well. I only use that drive now and again anyway.
