Ive used couple of lock down softwares that I can vouch for. One being clean slate and another being reboot restore rx which is a freeware. they work pretty well for what I wanted to use it for
Ive used Acronis for imaging works pretty good but its a bit picky and crashes when it sometimes hits bad sectors.
A great free version that works but is slow is called Easuse Disk to disk here is where I got it from http://www.easeus.com/disk-copy/

I use a program called reboot restore rx on my kids system. I ran into it when looking for a program alike online and its been working great for me. its actually free so I dont see why not have a look right

Another one to look at would be a program called Drive vaccine that works pretty good. Also a free version I know of is reboot restore rx just google it.
YEs a Aging power supply can cause the system to shut down , especially when load is being put on it such as running a Game. Have you looked at your motherboard if you have any swollen capacitors as well?
