Also seems strange that if there's only one IDE connector that there shows up 4 channels. SATA must be showing as IDE, although no board I've used shows SATA as Master/Slave. It has to be jumpers on the two drives. As mentioned, it's not too good to have HD and DVD on the same IDE channel...

At that screen you're seeing, I'd hit DEL to enter SETUP, NOT F1 to Continue, check CPU settings and stuff, save, reboot. Of course, I don't know what that is in IDE Channel 4 Master, an HD or a DVD drive or what, so maybe some drive jumper settings are in order. Also check drives in the CMOS...

Yup, if you noticed in the manual (you did read it, didn't you?) the first PCI slot is the one that's shared with lots of other stuff, LOTS, so it would definately be best to avoid that PCI slot unless it's filled with something innocuous!! Things like you used, sound cards, video cards, will...
