    Radeon X800 GTO underclocked due to heating issues on a C2D. So yeah its holding me back.

    Your monitor is the one holding your card back. Here the solution to your problems. SAMSUNG 2433BW 24 inch Monitor. With its 1920 x 1200, it should put a bit more strain on that 4870 of yours.

    I tried that, uninstalling and then reinstalling the drivers. It started months ago when in certain it started to artifact in full screen or even freeze, but totally be normal in windowed mode.
