Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I purchased an ASUS Z87-PLUS for use as a value server.
Unfortunately, when installing Windows Server 2012 Essentials, the Intel I217 network controller is not supported. And no driver is available, either from ASUS or from Intel.
Looking into the issue, I see that ASUS installs the Intel...
It sounds like ASUS's BIOS quality is headed down-hill, and fast. Does anyone recall what version they removed the Turbo overvoltage adjustment? I'm seriously thinking of trying to flash back to that version or frisbeeing this motherboard...
Just curious - why'd you upgrade from P68 to P77 and do you think it's worth it?
Other than BIOS issues that tick me off (like lack of updates & the lost Turbo Offset Voltage setting) is the P77 really superior to P68 in any real-world way other than supporting Ivy?
Funny you mention this, my P8Z68-V Pro bricked hard the other day. From what I can tell it apparently bluescreened at night and powered off (probably woke from S3 sleep for its backup). When I hit the power button in the morning, nothing. Fans spin up, lights come on, then nothing, no vsync...
I finally ordered & received my Q270-SE. It's great, the panel is flawless, but the color is way, way too cool temperature.
I tried the ToastyX ICM profiles, but they're way off. Apparently I got one of the Rev. 2D models and the color is too cool rather than having the green tint of the 2B...
Just a quick update on the my experience using BIOS v0706.
It turns out that enabling PLL Overvoltage in combination with using S3 sleep works only about 90% of the time. Last week I had one incident where the system just restarted instead of resuming. Then, this morning, the system...
Got the time to update to BIOS v0706, latest drivers, etc and I must say I'm impressed. I can confirm that S3 sleep now works with CPU PLL Overvoltage enabled. I had given up on this ever being fixed. I'm now easily able to hit 47x103, just by hitting the Extreme Overclock button in AI Suite...
Has anyone tested BIOS 0706 to see if S3 can resume when CPU PLL over voltage is enabled?
I thought I read this was due to some sort of un-fixable flaw in the CPU microcode. It would be great if this turns out to be wrong.
Anyone?
Hey,
Is anyone else having this issue with their ASUS P8Z68 motherboard?
Putting the system into S3 sleep, then waking the system by moving the mouse and running "powercfg -lastwake" reports that the Intel 82579V network controller woke the system when this is apparently wrong. The USB mouse...
Ah, I misread that.
Hey, since you mention it, could you post links to any SRT documentation, whitepapers, etc you're aware of? The Google isn't dredging up much...
From what I've read, the answer to this question is yes, although I haven't tried this exact configuration myself. You should probably avoid SRT 'Maximized' mode to avoid excessive wear on what I assume is a MLC SSD drive. And if you value your data, I'd recommend a backup strategy on that...
