Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Thx Faethon. You answered my next question, which I was about to ask. So to sum up what you said:
48c is the target temperature
level 5 is the minimum spin of the fan
Once CPU temperature hits over 48c, the fan spins faster. Correct?
Thx MissJ. Since yours did work, I decided to give mine another try. This time I used HWMonitor and saw that the fan speed was increasing. I am using a Noctua PWM fan and that thing is super quiet, which was why I couldn't tell if the fan speed was increasing. Thx!
I just purchased the Asrock Z77E-ITX mini board.
I am using a Noctua 92mm PWM CPU fan. It appears that the setting options in the BIOS does not allow my CPU fan to dynamically adjusts the fan speed to address the heat generated by the CPU stepping. When the CPU is idle or full load, the fan...
I do understand both PS are made almost the same, but the key is the watt usage and the noise level. The Seasonic gets loud at 26dBa around 300-400W. So basically, the sweet spot is around 200-300W for the Seasonic.
I want to know if others would go higher to the AX850.
Hi,
I am trying to determine which PS would be the best fit.
I am running:
i5 760 Quad [95 watts]
PowerColor Radeon HD 5450 [18 watts]
4 x 4 DDR3 (16GB) [40 watts]
GIGABYTE GA-P55M-UD2 Micro ATX [100watts]
3Ware 8ML RAID Card [20 watts]
8 x 2TB WD EADS (RAID 6) [48 watts]...
Hi,
I am considering buying one of these drives. Which is the better SandForce drive?
Corsair Force CSSD-F120GB2-BRKT 2.5" 120GB SATA II or
G Skill PHOENIX PRO FM-25S2S-120GBP2
'WHS can mirror disks without RAID. In linux you can use dmraid or LVM. Also there is unraid. Many choices for the home user."
I was focusing on Win7 solution since I want to run Media Center. What redundancy solution do you know of for Win7 without hardware raid?
My ideal mobo would be...
Any word if Intel is releasing a mini-itx with SATA3 and USB3? Onboard Raid would also be nice.
I still can't figure out why some mobo makers (Zotac) will put 6 sata ports onto a mini-itx mobo without raid. There is only a few mini-itx chassis out there that would hold 5 or more 3.5" or...
This is good stuff! I will reinstall Win7 x64 OS this Thur and start over to ensure it's 3rd codec free. Then I will use the 3 steps here. I will report back later this week. Thanks!
I run into 2 issues using K-Lite.
Note: I have Win7 x64 and Media Browser
Issue 1: Using only K-Lite x86. I am able to play some MKV files in WMC. There are a few MKV files that will not play. Error message states, Cannot find file.
Issue 2: Using K-lite x86 and K-lite x64. I...
Hi. I know this is a pretty old thread, but want to know if these steps are still needed. Perhaps there has been some advancement since Sept 2009?
My goal is to play MKV, AVI and ripped Video_TS files. I am using
-Win7 x64 with Windows Media Center
-Media Center Master and Media...
So it appears that the 780i chipset doesn't have AHCI. *I think* I didn't disable anything in the BIOS and was able to modify idle time and TLER. I am one step closer to 11160GB using RAID6... cost $1120. not bad at all!
Ran into a problem.
I am using an EVGA mboard, 132-ck-nf78-a1. I can't find the settings to disable AHCI. Researched a few websites and some users stated that the EVGA 780i series do not support AHCI. Not sure what to think now. How can newer mboards not support AHCI? ...even if this...
