Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I can only seem to play my .flac and other sound files (wma, mp3) upmixed in 5.1 channels using Foobar. It also seems to generally sound a lot nicer in Foobar too. I've tried a number of codecs including OggCodec that allowed me to play .flac in WMP but only in stereo.
Cheers
You almost got to the main advantages of SW Raid ;)
Thanks for the case advice, I'll probably just end up throwing whatever looks good in, taking power consumption into concideration.
With SW Raid do you just install software in WHS or is SW Raid an OS in itself? I know unRAID is Linux...
Hey,
Thanks for the advice, thing is I have a ton of old parts laying around from dual core's to P4's.. and even some older unopened motherboards, not to mention a ton of everything else. So I was thinking throw some together all I need is a case and HDD's.
Thinking about building a media server, haven't really had much experience with HDD's always built a system with new parts and around two high storage drives that weren't connected in any special way.
If I were to get say 2-6 1TB drives, would RAID be the best option or is there a new...
Well to say it has 'nothing' to do with HTPC's, how can you have a PC and no connections, speakers and not want some other devices to further enhance your system?
Yeah, I've had a look at it, good read.
Definitely plenty of variables, it would definitely be an epic and rewarding thread though. Perhaps one exists out there already...
Hey,
Just wondering if anyone has a link or links to any useful AIO (All In One) guides for building a complete HTPC set-up, that includes not only the PC components and set-up but also
Software (Codec, Configuration, Library, Management)
Speakers
Connections (I/O, Configuration...
Just looking for a little advice on missing components to my HTPC setup, and how best to connect/setup the equipment properly to play everything in its 'true' format and with 'lossless' quality. Perhaps there is a thread someone knows about that can help also.
Computer
Motherboard...
Seems as I will be using it a lot for gaming, id prefer one with minimal input lag, does it say in 'Specification' sheets? I've searched the last 4 pages with no luck so far, thanks anyways.
