Steam Turns 18 YO Today - Rolled Out: Sept. 12 2003

Played CS 1.5 daily. When 1.6 came out they forced you to make a steam account to play it. A lot of my friends refused to adopt it so I took a few days to actually make a steam account to play it. Ignore the badge number, you need to buy a game to update it. A year later for my Christmas I...

ARECA Owner's Thread (SAS/SATA RAID Cards)

I've always had issues trying to dial into my areca. Once I plugged in the ethernet and slapped an IP on it I've never been happier.

Not enough power on Norco 4224 with 22 drives

That's for the update. What caused the SAS expander to suddenly start overheating all of a sudden? Or I suppose it was coincidence.

Litecoin mining with one card while gaming on another?

OP, this works. Since march I've been mining with a pair of 7950's and using a second passive video card. I'd use the passive one while both cards mined just to be able to use my desktop. Then I could shut down one 7950 and use it to power the game, while the other one kept mining.

Cheapest place to get 100' Cat5 cable?

Where in Canada are you? To ship a single a single 1000ft spool is $80 + $60 shipping. $140. I found a local place in Toronto that had them for $90-100 + tax.

    [ANN][LTC][POOL][PPLNS][STRATUM]Invasion Mining Network

If you go to the "stats" -> "Pool Stats" page, it's listed at the bottom there. Not very convenient but nevertheless better than nothing.

Need new switch for home use

But looking at that chart, I don't really need any of that for a home switch. I found out the provantage doesn't even ship to Canada, so I may ship it to the border for $220 US and go pick it up. While the Cisco one does look the nicest, I can't find it for a comparable cost to the HP switch.

What's a good ratio for the 7950? Also what are you guys using to OC? I'm using the saphire cards and currently getting between 530-580 khash/s

Need new switch for home use

So right now it's a tossup between a used 1810-24G v1 for $150, a new one for $200 or a new 1810-24G v2 from ProVantage for $270 US shipped to Canada. Woodi, have you got yours yet?
