    Bad Motherboard?

Exchanged the MB and everything is working fine again.

    Bad Motherboard?

I can run both sticks if I keep them in single channel (slot 1 and 2 or slot 3 and 4). Is the MB still the most likely thing at fault?

    Bad Motherboard?

Is Memtest still good for checking for bad RAM? I've seem RAM past 20+ passes of Memtest v5 but fails Intel Burn Test until I loosen the timing or decrease the speed. I did run both sticks though 10 passes of IBT. They usually fail after 2 passes if they're not stable even though they can pass...

    Bad Motherboard?

I got a Gigabyte Z97x-UD3H that can't seem to use more than one stick of RAM all of a sudden. It's been running great for over a week but now it won't POST with 2x4GB of RAM. I tried running it with only stick A and only stick B and they both POST so it doesn't look like it's the RAM. I've tried...

    Asus vs Gigabyte

I meant the Z97x-UD3H has 10k hours caps while the Z97-A only has 5k hours caps. It looks like you found the MOSFET heatsink mount on the Z97-A to be a potential problem. Do the heatsinks have an adhesive backing or are the push pins the only thing keeping them secure? I've seen a few reviews...

    Asus vs Gigabyte

The Z97-WS costs twice as much as the Z97-A and Gigabyte.

    Asus vs Gigabyte

The Gigabyte does say 10k hrs caps. Caps don't have to completely fail to cause something else to fail. Usually, the drop in capacitance will cause stress to other components and make them more likely to fail over time. I'm probably just going to go with the one that I can find for cheaper.

    Asus vs Gigabyte

That isn't a huge problem for me since I can't manage the downtime of waiting to get it fix. Although, it would be nice to have a spare once I send it in for RMA. I almost ruled out Asus because I've read so many people complain about getting back the exact same product with no repair attempted...

    Asus vs Gigabyte

I'm looking for a socket 1150 motherboard for a 4690k. I've had great success with Asus and Gigabyte in the past. Are they still the best when it comes to reliability? I'm looking for something that has a good chance of lasting 7yrs. Only requirements are full ATX and less than $150. I've...

    Dell S2440L Alternative

I've gone through five of them and they all have dust between the glass and panel. I tried three different retailers and they all had the same problems. They all had at least one dead pixel and a good amount of dust between the glass and screen. Are there any alternatives for around $200? I'm...

    Best Computer Speakers?!? Clarity, Clarity!

The M-Audio BX5a has an active crossover network (24 dB/oct Linkwitz-Riley crossover). They used to go for $150-200/pair and the newer version is around $250/pair.

    Dell S-Line Screens - S2740L, S2440L, S2340M, S2340L, S2240M

I bought a S2440l last week from Best Buy online since the ones around my place were out of stock due to the sale price. The first one has a couple dead pixels and what looked like dust/dirt stuck between the panel and glass. It looks like there is something putting pressure on the pixel(s). I...

M-Audio Studiophile BX5a Deluxe Active Monitors for $150 (pair)

I have these for over a year now and love them. Got them for $150 as well and they're hard to beat for the price. They're bright and bass falls off after around 80hz so most people don't like them since they're accustomed to systems with overpowered bass. They have great highs, good mids, and...
