    290 vs. 780 in Trine 2

It was really dark in some areas. A character would pass through a shadowed spot and you couldn't see them at all. The contrast and saturation seemed to be cranked to 100%. I played the first Trine on a 680, so I knew it looked very colorful, but it was so incredibly so this time that objects...

    290 vs. 780 in Trine 2

Hmmm very interesting actually. A friend and I noticed Trine 2 looked really weird when we were playing on our R9 290's. We had to mess with the gamma a lot to make it playable. We thought it was just the game.

Ouch, same spot on the board too?

Professional dual screen advice, IPS recommendation

I'm actually thinking about going with a 27" and then adding another later on. Spread them out a bit. I can use the Korean monitor as the aux monitor for the time being. Any recommendation for the HP ZR27 vs the U2713?

Professional dual screen advice, IPS recommendation

I recently started programming full-time. I have a Catleap Q270 and its been great, but the glare from the screen is starting to take its toll on my eyes. I am working for 8-10 hours a day, and I do not think the Catleap was made for this type of work. I'm looking at replacing it with two...

I don't get why people are declaring the 680 the winner already??

I think it is funny that people are already throwing around "average" overclocking numbers on a card that has been out for 24 hours and only on the first launch driver. I also find it strange how people are saying the average OC on a 7970 is 1250mhz, which is clearly not the case. Just looking...

    GTX680 Availability?

Great stock on launch day IMO. I was able to snag an EVGA. Vendors are saying small waves will come in until the beginning of April when huge stocks are pushed through. There was a thread where a Tiger Direct CSA said they were getting about 100 per day until the big stock comes in.

    How long till custom 680s?

Nvidia usually makes vendors use the reference design for several months before custom PCBs can be used. Typically 3-6 months. This is a good thing for people looking to WC. Nothing is worse than 15 different board types floating around when trying to match waterblocks.

    Official GTX 680 overclocking Thread!

I don't understand this talk about OC locked. Various sites have shown OC's. It looks like the card will automatically downclock if it senses that it may start producing errors. I think this is a good thing for most gamers, but not for the hardcore enthusiast.

Reducing GTX 480 temps without aftermarket cooler

Only way to tame the 480 is with watercooling. I have an equally hot 470. It was running at 92C at stock settings under load, now I do 45C under load with increased voltage and an OC to 880mhz. At stock settings, it loads at 42C. I idle at 30C. Used EK waterblocks can be had for 50 bucks if...

Help Me Chose! Benq EW2420 vs Asus VE258Q

Hmmm, I don't know about that. I have a VE258Q and the color shift is pretty obvious. It is a good panel, but it tends toward the blue spectrum. If you correct your gamma, it still seems too blue. The black light is fantastic though. No bleeding at all and very dark. Not on par with a...

Just Terrible News from AMD! No Competition = No Incentive for Development!

It is simply getting harder to compete. I've been surprised AMD has stayed around this long in the processor field. They had their hay day before Conroe, but its been a game of catch up ever since. Hopefully Piledriver can salvage something from the botched Bulldozer launch, but Ivy will most...

AMD Radeon HD 7950 Video Card Review @ [H]

What people don't understand is that AMD has to price these cards correctly to get people to upgrade from what they have. If the price/performance ratio is slightly better than a 580GTX, then it will not entice people to move on the deal. It has to be quite an upgrade for people to consider...

Siri Backlash Threatens Apple’s Future Magic

Ugh, its just one feature. The phone works incredibly well and people single out a beta service to bash Apple with?

Copyright Trolls Auction Off File-Sharing Settlements

I haven't purchased a music CD is years except self labeled bands. I just go without. Most good music is from independent bands anyway.
