Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I have an Antec Neo 520, and I was wondering if there's any harm in potentially utilizing every last watt most of the time? I just got a GTX 480 and it combined with my processor should be using every bit of 520 watts if not a bit more in games.
Yes, because the fans are LED fans and I would be able to see the LEDs lit up if the fans were going. And I can see the fan blades sitting there idle.....
Read my post carefully, the click continues with the PC on or off. It just gets much quieter when the PC is off. The fans both turn off then the PC is off, so it's no the fans in the PSU.
My PSU just about 15 minutes ago started to make a clicking sound. I bought it about 4 months ago, it's a 600W Rosewill(I know, unreliable) with a lot hooked up to it. It had 2 7900GT KOs, 2 hard disks, 2 cd drives, pentium D 930. Plus about 5 case fans. This click fan continues with the PC on...
Edit: Disregard dumb post for help, i wasd checking and my stock intel heatsink became partly dislodged during the re-wiring of the system internals. Processor becomes audible at about 80C, its a pentium D so it gets hot unless the heatsink is on just right.
So I turn on the computer, everything hooked up, and everything appears to be working fine for about 20 seconds, then the computer shuts off. It also makes a high pitched type of noise, but that could be anything on the computer doing that.
Lol, I dont want an opinion on RAID 0, cause im gonna do it either way. If it boosts performance 2% it was worth it, cause its also adding the extra storage, which i could do without using raid, but also without the performance boost. I find it unlikely that either of my drives will fail...
Is RAID 0 faster if you run it off the motherboard, or off of an added chip. I've had people tell me on-mobo is faster, and others tell me off a PCI chip is faster cause it doesn't use mobo resources. Who is right?
What size fans would go onto the grill beside my PCI slots? There is a long thin grill there, besides the PCI slots and below my 120 mm case exhaust fan. Anything that could go there?
