Best Mini-ATX board for 2700 or 2700x ? Also, which CPU?

9400F is an awful recommendation. It can't overclock, and its boost is a meager 4.1 ghz, which means in many cases it'll be slower than a 2600(x) overclocked to 4.0 all-core. They both don't have IGP's so it fails on the small value an added IGP can have in troubleshooting as well. 9400F just...

Need recomendation for GPUs on a budget for WoW Classic

570 definitely is the best value currently. From a recent 1660 review on Techpowerup(you can shave off a few % on the 570(8gb), as it's about $10 more expensive than they used for this graph): I imagine In many cases your CPU may end up being the component holding your framerate down in WoW...

Need recomendation for GPUs on a budget for WoW Classic

That's not a low profile card, it's just a short card. These are the options: https://us.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GTX-1050-Ti-4GT-LP https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/zotac-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-low-profile https://www.asus.com/us/Graphics-Cards/GTX1050TI-O4G-LP-BRK...

    Difference between cards

For $10 you get +10mm fans, +40mm length, +1 heatpipe, +45mhz clock. I imagine it was mostly a form factor decision so they could make something that fit in smaller cases.

Need recomendation for GPUs on a budget for WoW Classic

People have been recommending a lot of cards that can't fit inside that SFF case. Like I said earlier, the best low profile GPU you can get is a 1050 Ti, which is better than the 560. Alternatively, like you said, you can possibly transfer the lenovo guts to a new case as long as the mounts are...

Need recomendation for GPUs on a budget for WoW Classic

If you require a low profile card, the best you can do is a 1050 Ti. They're also the most powerful GPU you can get that don't require a PCIe power connector, which the Lenovo SFF probably also doesn't have.

    2700x high voltage

Creator mode disables an entire CCX, making the 2700x a 4/8 CPU instead of a 8/16 CPU, which will obviously reduce power draw. Enable PBO in your bios and forget about it, it won't destroy your CPU. I'm not sure that most people that use AM4 actually use Ryzen master for anything, honestly...

    Ryzen 7 2700x or Ryzen 5 2600x

Getting a first gen ryzen x CPU(1700x) is sort of pointless and a bit of a waste of money. They both have the exact same boost algorithm. That is, they both downclock to their base clock speed once a load of more than 1 core is applied. Better off with a non-x first gen, as they come with decent...

    2700x high voltage

Under load it should be pulling a lot of power, that's how... electronics, and specifically modern CPU boost algorithms work. There's literally nothing to worry about here, if the PC is stable then everything is fine.

Friend building new Ryzen 2950x system. DOA no matter what.

What is the flashing red light? Is it the Bios Flashback update light(right next to the CMOS battery)? Assuming it's the bios flashback update light, he probably was attempting to install the wrong bios, although from what I've read the bios LED shouldn't flash red, it should either be solid...

    Threadripper and Windows 7

No one is forcing anyone to choose any OS, many people are just pointing out the flaws in the logic of installing an EOL OS that will have many security issues in the not-too-distant future. They are legitimate points whether you like it or not. Various Linux builds are often a better choice...

Rumor: AMD Ryzen 3000 "Matisse" Launching July 7

My understanding of the issue is threads staying active under windows, but not actually doing any computing because windows doesn't quite know what to do with CPU cores not having direct access to the memory. It's not a memory bandwidth issue in most cases, it's a chip design & software...

Rumor: AMD Ryzen 3000 "Matisse" Launching July 7

Why not? The chiplets are 8 cores, according to all the rumors and pictures the AM4 parts can have 2 chiplets, so 16 core parts would probably make sense at some point. However, I could see them not releasing the 16 core on the release of Zen 2 and instead maximizing the output of fully capable...

Terrible gaming experience with Ryzen 1700

First of all, there's almost never a time where the 1700 @3.9ghz is an upgrade in gaming to the 6700k @4.7. The IPC of both is similar, but the 6700k has a entire 20% clock speed advantage. Second, if you're getting stuttering on the 1700 you don't have enough RAM for the game you're playing...
