Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Hmmm. You caught my attention on the music server idea the thought hadnt occurred to me to build one but maybe Ill give it some thought and research. Thanks for the idea.
Havent the foggiest as to what a Kramer modded PortaPro is but Im sure its sweet. The only thing I dont like about them is the short cord guess thats what you get at that price point.
Many military folks from the 60s came home with either Sansui or Pioneer stuff - I chose Pioneer. My...
Im enjoying the Koss PortaPro Headphones at the moment with a 6 year old in the house I need to hear whats going on around even while listening to music. Yes, I need do to try to get to a few meets. I live in Houston, TX, and this isnt exactly a haven for audio stores.
And to Matthew...
In my case the ultimate nirvana upgrade would be a new pair of ears. Banning a miracle of some sort I will never own a truly expensive DAC in this lifetime - Im reaching toward budget nirvana.
I lusted after the NAD T747 after seeing and hearing it in a showroom years ago. Patience finally...
Sorry Hammer, I was rushed and tried to answer two messages with one reply.
The Zona shows up under the Control Panel\Sounds as Speakers 2-USB Audio Device. Whenever I want to switch from my local Pioneer tuner/amp to my AVR in the living room, I simply switch the default playback device...
Well, thats one of the things that goes along with being an old guy (me) with old stuff = emotional attachment as much as anything else. Its already a long haul and a little longer wont hurt. I appreciate your recommendation to check @ audiokarma and if I come up short there maybe Ill email...
Thanks for your feedback. Our audio budget is limited and Im leaning toward the HRT Music Streamer at the moment (thanks for the reminder that Christmas is coming). I have read good things about the Xonar DG as well, particularly with headphones, however all options remain open. I had not heard...

About 4 years ago I became interested in building a home PC which would offer better video performance than our box store computer using Photoshop elements and some games. With the very kind help and patience of some Hard Forum members I built my first computer.
Heres that...

Addded a little blue light; a 4 in. Dual Blue Cold Cathode Kit, $6.99 @ xoxide.com, and an Antec 3 speed LED 120mm fan, $14.99 @ Fry's (makes a little more noise than the original Ultra, even at medium speed). Here are a couple pics, plus one of my new build beside my old system...
Update & thanks:
I have been so busy having so much fun with my new build you wouldnt believe (well, yes, you of all people would). I have ordered a 4 cold cathode kit & hopefully the install will go well. Will post a pic after the install.
I dont want too much more time to pass before...
That didn't take long! I found this web-site & just sent them an e-mail asking about the size of the inverter and the type of power plug:

There's even a photo of an Apevia X-Qpack 2 (I think) similar to mine with the cathodes mounted.
I have about a 4" square space between the front of my mobo and the front of the case which might be just dandy. When you say 4 pin connector would I think molex, or maybe some other connector that might connect to one of the many remaining cables for my PS? I need to do some Googling on this...
OMG, I just Googled your computer case. It's huge! Very, very nice. I hadn't paid attention to the build stats on your replies. Wowzers, you could almost mount headlights and drive it to work.
Thanks again. Leaning toward the fans at the moment only bec I don't know how to hook up cold cathodes yet. Case has limited space; I could probably fit something like a 4-6" tube up along each side (the PS blocks half of one side and the HD blocks half the other, but the remaining space would...
