SFX/SFX-L PSU in Shuttle R5 Case

I haven't been on the site for some time now. SFX PSU's are improved, if I change the motherboard to a mini ITX board, SFX PSU can fit in the front (hopefully SFX-L also). For cooling the easiest solution would be the Asetex 545LC. The modding would be only cutting a hole on the bottom of the...

    Lian Li PC Q33

4570k + Titan with 450W SFX PSU? I would not risk it. PSU should not be run on their maximum capacity, so you should give a bit bigger PSU, so PSU can work more effective, and it wil last longer. Who buys 4570k, want to overlock it at least for 4/4,5GHz... (or why the k version?) Overlocked...

    Lian Li PC Q33

" It's really about time Lian Li gave up supporting ATX PSUs and moved completely to SFX." I would never want a mini ITX system limited with SFX PSU... Lots of people want powerfull system with mini ITX. No wonder, there are RoG motherboard, big cases, like Prodigy, Elite 120/130 soon SFX PSU...

    CM Elite 130 Coming soon!

It does not talk about size, but I guess is totally the same size, like the 120, only the facepanel is different, and the HDD cage is out (but maybe it is just a protototype, or it is just removed because the 7990) In CM Elite 120 you can also fit the 7990, I think.

    CM Elite 130 Coming soon!

Thanks for the reply! I thought this case would deserve its own topic (like other cases as well) I dont really like the new bitfenix cases but at least there are more options for mini PC builders.

    CM Elite 130 Coming soon!

There are some pics, maybe it is just a prototype yet and the final product will be different, I don't know http://www.expreview.com/26117.html http://www.cowcotland.com/news/37089/computex-2013-cooler-master-lance-elite-130-itx-gamer.html I just watched the pictures, did not translate the...

Cooler Master Elite 120 MiniITX case

Thanks for the answer, is it getting enough air to cool the CPU down?

Cooler Master Elite 120 MiniITX case

You need to drill to remove the HDD cage I think so. (owner will tell, I'm courius about that too) My plan would be a Corsair H60 or H80 watercooling on the front fan.

Cooler Master Elite 120 MiniITX case

You can get rid of the cage, just you have to drill the rivets. (hopefully the front fan is on the front panel, not on the cage.) My plan is to buy a bay converter for an HDD and put an SSD on the side (or there is enough room in the converter as well). And put an H60/80 on the front fan...

    Coolermaster Elite 120 Advanced

This will be my first mini PC case, I watch it closely since CES, and it is almost the perfect case for my goals. (With some modding it will be perfect) http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=6852 Prodig is not good for me, Lian Li ones neither. I was thinking about Shuttles too...

SFX/SFX-L PSU in Shuttle R5 Case

I don't really trust the Shuttle PSU (specially the cooling and the noise). If I can modify the Shuttle case to handle an ATX PSU, I can use lots of modular PSUs (I'm thinking about the full modular Corsair AX 650 , what is Gold certified) Lots of work to design a new backplate (or backplate...

SFX/SFX-L PSU in Shuttle R5 Case

The R5 case is the biggest Shuttle so far An ATX PSU can be fitted on the back theorically. http://imageshack.us/f/26/shuttlemitxplan.jpg/ (This plan has an mITX motherboard, Shuttle one is a bit different) To fit the PSU I have to make modifications of course. Biggest problem is to design the...

New Ivy Bridge Shuttle Z77R5 at CeBIT

I see, I can't talk you out of it :) I need the 4slot memory so I wouldn't change the motherboard. When the planned configuration gets old, I will decide if I buy a new Shuttle, or just buy an mITX motherboard to the R5 case. Shuttle biggest advantage is, very quick to start the new PC :)...
