    I've also heard that Samsungs die faster than any other brand. But I would buy it if reliability isn't a concern. The fastest and most reliable drive out is the Seagate 7200.11. But I bought the WD Caviar 500GB also for using it as a data dump cause it's pretty cheap.

    Yeah, the RAM in your video card plays a role. So if you have a 768MB from your 8800GTS, then you only have 3.2 system memory.

    Go Vista 64-bit. There's little support for 64-bit XP if any, so just go all the way down the road :]. And... 3 years for an OS isn't that bad.

    i believe 8800GT is 10% stronger than the 9600GT. 9600GT is definitely the best bang for the buck.

    Well, all I need is something to add up to 1 TB. Seagate is much faster than Western Digital, so I use the Seagate to boot up Windows and then use the WD as a data dump.

    Ah thanks for the suggestions. I'm wondering if I should use 64-bit Vista instead of 32-bit XP now... So if I don't plan on overclocking, i shouldn't need an after-market cooler? I just want the CPU to be good for 3-4 years.

    I would try going to a local retailer (like Best Buy and Circuit City). I like to see if the TV looks nice or not in person. You do not want to rely on an online review.
