Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
My 2 pennies:
I think the lack of higher OC's when in SLI mode is related to the communication needed between the cards. I'm not positive on that but it is my guess. I am using a Enermax 650W (peak) PSU and I think that should provide more than enough power.... its even got the dual PCIE power...
My guess is that spyware or adware is causing the stutters... If it doesn't stutter all the time then I wouldn't think that it is a driver issue. I would try the card using a fresh install of Windows before RMAing. Also, if you are overclocking then stop that and try gaming at stock CPU/RAM...
Agreed. WHY would you use brand new chipset drivers, BIOS, etc and keep the oldschool 61.xx drivers? Uninstall those 61s and install a 7x.xx+ driver. I have had excellent result with my 68U and the latest 7x drivers.
Re-read the above posts.... Your 6800 Ultra already has all of the possible pipes unlocked... thats' why it is an "Ultra". All you can do to improve your card is overclock the Core and RAM speeds. I would expect very little OCing from the RAM and maybe 25-50MHz from the GPU Core.
I have had no problems OC'ing my 2 SLI'd Ultras using various 7x.xx drivers. They don't seem to OC very far when in SLI but they DO OC. I would make sure that your CPU/RAM is not overclocked and set the PEG settings to default (auto). Also, verify that the SLI selector card is installed the...
If not overclocking (above 225MHz FSB) I don't see any stability issue. I am running 2 (eVGA) 6800 Ultras in SLI. I have yet to crash the board while gaming or anything else (when not OC'ing). I have been running the CPU and RAM @ stock speeds for the last month and haven't seen a random reboot...
I'm not seeing that NV68 SLI block/setup for sale on the DD site yet.... Any idea when it will be available or who has it for sale? I am still waiting for a response from DD....
My tap and die set, drill press and scroll saw finally arrived yesterday. I had been planning on modding the DD...
I have the EXACT same prob with my Asus K8V. USB2 ports are not recognized as Hi-speed. If I install the USB2.0 drivers then the PC will show them as hi-speed ports but as soon as the PC reboots the high-speed function dissapears (full-speed or USB1) still works fine....just slow. I haven't...
not your ISP. Asus's website has been sucking ballz lately. It spits out error messages everyother time I click on a link to the Asus site. They just need to get their sh!t together.
agree with it being amazing as too how much more emphasis is put on laptop gaming performance now a days but it looks to me like the RAM speed on that mobile card is only 600MHz and there is still no possibility of sli.
1st thing to try would be locking your CAS setting to 3.0 and boot and it should work... I'm no RAM expert but I would just set the timings to stick #2's settings (3.0 3 3 8). This however may produce slower performance than running 1 512MB stick of CAS 2.5 memory (will depend on what you are...
read the mobo manual on how to clear your CMOS (or reset your BIOS). Shouldnt take more than 10 secs. your BIOS settings will be restored to the original settings so you will have to go back in and tweak them (if desired). anytime the PC locks up like that just reset the CMOS and check your BIOS...
