There are several things that can affect this, Powersupply Heat or Silicon Lottery. Have you tried Overclocking the cards at all in SLI?

EK just released the x99 mosfet blocks that fit all x99 boards they are like 50 bucks but thats all you really need.

Did you try yo load the storage driver on the disk selection screen?

Display port hub would be the easiest was as long as the monitors had displayport

You only need the 8 pin connector the 4 pin is extra power for extreme overclocking

I would get a fractal define xl r2 with it holds 10 and you could get a couple of bay adapters. It also comes with sound dampening.

I also own this monitor with zero complaints. It performs well and looks good
