Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
hey guys, so i hear you can create a custom res in the 330Hz mode for this screen and run it at 3440x1440 instead of 2560x1080.
how would i go about doing that please? any guides links or advice is appreciated.
not gonna pretend that i know wtf that problem is, but you didn't mention whether you factory reset the screen and whether you checked/update firmware to the latest version.
those are the 2 things i'd do just cause you can. also, i know that some issues on alienware screens (i know, different...
finally got my hands on one of these. for context, i've had the following models before
AW3423DW
LG 45GR95QE - 3440x1440
LG 32GS95QE - 32" 4K
LG 39GS95QE - 3440x1440
and now the 45" 5K2K
received my unit yesterday, out of the box it had the common "vertical lines", which cleared up after a...
this, so, so much. i've owned the AW3821DW and the 24:10 ratio with 3840x1600 at 38" was THE PERFECT size and resolution combination.
we can only hope that LG makes this panel in the oled flavour, that would be my endgame.
i've gone from the 45" 1440p to the 39" 1440p and the PPI is better...
i have a 4090 and based on YT videos at 5120x2160 from various titles (you can easily search for that) i'd lose about 33% fps, so i'm staying on 3440x1440
can't stand framerates below 100, call me a snob....and i'm not shelling out for a 5090 either.
my ideal would be a 40" 3840x1600 (had an...
hey man, so a couple of weeks later, what are your impressions of this?
i do have a 3423DW, but this screensize is very enticing for me, my use case is 80% gaming, rest work from home + content consuption.
of course i'm concerned about the PPI, but i hear that it's perfectly fine, not that bad...
wait for the alienware. They are going to be coming out with this panel. Should be designated AW3821DW. My only hope is that they will actually have their own implementation of cooling the gsync module instead of this horrific fan.
this guy did. see pics here:
https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/posts/33645756
he also replaced the GSYNC module fan and the hissing is gone. read the thread from the point i linked to.
i thought this was the fan too at first, but this sound is totally constant, i have powered the screen down with the power button and the sound was there 7 hours later when i got up from bed. surely the fan would not be running 24/7 while the monitor is turned off?
edit: seems like the fan...
got my unit yesterday and was very happy with it, until....
as i was going to bed, i noticed a weird sound coming out of the monitor, mostly because it was very quiet at night.
i think this is the dreaded coil whine.

first 6 seconds are quiet, i plug the monitor in...
the thing i'd like to know is how much worse would my FPS be in for example COD:MW with this res on a 1080ti, when i get around 100-120 on a 3440x1440 (not maxed out details ofc), how much worse would it get with +1.2mil pixels? down by 10? 20? 50? anyone with the screen and 1080ti here? :)...
