I currently own a E4500 + Msi P35-Neo2-FR + Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro and was wondering what ram should I get to push it to 3.5ghz or so. Is 6400 enough? Any brand/kit recommendation?
Yep. I was mainly worried about being cpu limited.
Btw, I had in mind to buy a very cheap cpu+mobo+ram combo (the cpu being the aforementioned e4500, maybe even a E2140) and bear with it until Nehalem, at which point I'd do a full upgrade - no point in buying costly stuff that will be...
I'm eyeing this one for my new rig (Q9450, 2gb crucial 8500, 8800GTS 512, 2-3 hds, 1 writer, 2 120mm nanoxia fans, and I want plenty of room for overclocking). It's a bit dated though (q1 2006), so I'm not really sure if it's worth the money, but the specs look impressive. Whaddaya think?
I'm considering both the Corsair 620W and the Enermax Noisetaker II 600W, since I'm planning to overclock cpu, gpu and ram. Maybe I can get an used Enermax for about half the price, though, and from what I gather 'round the web it's supposed to be also of better quality.
I'm on a budget and I'm afraid a 8800GTS 512 is the most expensive card I could get right now. I'm also considering buying a 8800GT 512 and adding one later when the price drops, but I've read some negative comments on the relatively small quantity of memory crippling it (and the GTS 512)...
I'm 100% new to overclocking so I don't really have any goals yet. I thought I'd just play around and overclock to get a better performance should I need it (like when the system is aging or maybe for gaming).
Any feature beyond stability and overclocking are icing on the cake, but I'd really...
Hi all.
So I'm gonna build a new pc on a Q9450, but I'm stumped on what mobo I should use. Basically, I'm interested in stability and good overclocking (nothing extreme, but I want some juice out of that CPU).
After some research I've come down to these three models which seem to suit my...
