Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
There's nothing drug related about it - well, nothing illegal. It's used for smoking tobacco.
That one, however, is purely ornamental. I don't smoke, but I love that colour of blue. That and it's a souvenir I brought back from Lebanon.
Yeah, that would be pretty sweet :p though my main reason for this mod was the noise the stock fan made when I was watching movies. Playing games I didn't mind so much, but with Blu-rays or even Netflix I had to turn my stereo up just to drown it out. I haven't tested it long enough to see if...
Just an update:
I modded a 120mm fan to the bottom of the PlayStation to provide active cooling to the ramsinks, and I re-seated the waterblock with some Arctic Silver paste rather than the paste it came with. I'm not sure which it was, or even if it was both combined, but it's working great...
Thank you both for your replies :)
dealmaster's correct, it's the MCR320 Drive w/ integrated res and MCP35X pump.
I'm fairly certain it's making good contact. I had to cut the aluminum shield around the processors as there was a lip that was preventing the block from contacting the chips...
Hi all,
I'm aware of the general consensus on watercooling consoles, but I was getting tired of how loud my PS3's fan got when gaming/watching Blu-ray movies. I also thought it would be a great challenge and a fun project...
Anyway, in an ironic twist of fate, after I'd put it all back...
Was sleeving my HX850 so I decided to open her up (warranty's void anyhow) and post some pics.
It's a Yate Loon 140mm 2800rpm 140cfm 0.7A 12V fan based on Yate Loon's own product page:

It's also got a 2 pin fan header, so a...
Perfect! I think I'll try painting them first and go from there. Now to order a spare set of cables from Corsair and some paint.
Tsumi, I'll try your suggestion if the paint doesn't work. All in all, I'd rather keep the stock cables, but if it looks horrible I'll double up the 16 gauge wires...
Thanks Zero82z. That's what I was thinking too. Something's just not sitting right with having to use a higher gauge wire than what Corsair uses. I really wish some one manufactured UV reactive wires in varying gauges...
Another question, I came across a post on one of my searches that...
Hi all,
I'm looking into creating custom UV reactive modular cables for my PSU. I've looked at the current 24 pin ATX cable and the wires range from 22 AWG to 16 AWG. The only UV reactive wires I've seen are 18 AWG. Would it be safe to use 18 AWG for the wires that are currently 16 AWG? I...
