thanks for all your responses guys but i have just one last question, the following review shows the Quake 4 tested framerates using almost exactly the same setup as me, the setup was:
Motherboard MSI K8N Neo 2,
AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Socket 939,
2x512 mb Corsair TwinX PC3200 XL...
No i dont have the most recent version of Doom 3 but i believe that the upgrades gave no significant increase to performance
Its all well and good saying that I am at the right place for someone with a Athlon 64 3500+ and 7600 GS but when the test stats say otherwise then there is an issue
well in that case, how come the test frame rates for Quake 4 for my card are 20 FPS higher than my recorded Doom 3 frame rates? Surely Quake 4 should be comparable to Doom 3 since it uses its engine?
thanks for the link but why is it that on Doom 3 at 1024 x 768 i only get 60 when in that test it is getting 82 FPS thats a big difference ( i havent tested with AntiAliasing yet)
