Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
It was $1499 (i bought one) last time and $1599 the one before last time. If you want $1199, you have to wait. I don't know how long you gonna wait. ;)
Like DanK and I mentioned, all S-IPS screens behave like this, including apple monitors of course. Based on my experience, I have not seen any type of LCD panel does even close to good in extreme cases (such as observing the panel displaying solid black from some extreme angle in a dark room)
Yes, I agree that Sony is good at dealing with this type of issues. They have a dedicated resolution team for that. But Sony is not good as Dell in terms of product exchange. Well, it is another story after I received P234B. Please refer to my second post in...
My FW900 died in the same way. It flashed green lines, then screen become very bright, and the montior shut down itself. At the beginning, somehow it could recover by power cycle. The dying process took several months before no recovery any more. Sony said its CRT had problem. The repair...
The S-IPS panel in my Sony SDM-P234B (made in Jan 2006) has great color, very even backlight but awful backlight bleeding. If you heard about backlight beleding complains on Dell 2005FPW, it is what I am talking about since both of them are using same type of panel. Oh, Apple 23" should have...

This link should provide more information. Eizo CD240W uses the same panel. Basically it is "normal". 2405 does the same thing. 3007 does this but in opposite direction.
zflajs, probably we should ask what is the benefit of this faroujda process. If you focus on banding issue alone, you will never find out why the hell Dell want banding in video and game. I dont' think Dell wants it intentionaly. Banding (equivalently reduced color resolution) is a...
Dell's insisting on kind "special" processing, which is originally on the normal/game/video and now on game/video, must mean something. Both modes feature highly dynamic image change. Maybe reducing color resolution (banding) could fix some inherited shortcomings of PVA panel and overdrive...
Is it on the back of the monitor? My Dell 3007 has service tag stick on the back of the monitor.
As for the issue, I think the monitor is normal. The problem is on the signal source. I mean the monitor must be intellegent enough to only mess the video around while displaying the lable...
In my opinion, S-IPS has better overall performance. PVA's numbers look nice. However, it seems samsung just pick what the best the scrren can do for those numbers but they don't care in how slim probability that those numbers can be achieved in reality. both contrast and latency of PVA are...
