What is the absolute best monitor for gaming right now? I've been away for a long time...

One thing to note: if the Odyssey you're looking at was the 32:9 variant of it to play Diablo2, Blizzard announced that Diablo2 remastered was no longer going to support ultrawide. Big bummer imo: that style of game seems perfect for ultrawide.

    Official PS5 Thread

Good timing - just got a new monitor (FV43U) and have a hankering to get back into some PS5 gaming to test out the HDR/4K (going from a 32" 1440p to 43" 4k).

    God of War: Ragnarök

I don't get many titles on release day, but for this title I'll be buying day 1. I also agree with the other posters, this game doesn't look like a massive improvement graphically over the ps4 original.

    PlayStation Showcase 2021

Doesn't look like I'll be dusting off my PS5 much for the rest of this year. Forspoken looked interesting to me - hoping the main character and wrist thing aren't as chatty in the final game, but the game itself looked great. God of War: Ragnarok is looking good. Though it also looks pretty...

    Controller options

Probably a little late (since it appears OP set his mind on a Xbox One controller) but I've really been enjoying my 8bito Pro controller. That controller feels great for 2D platformers.

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

For the Canadians - newegg.ca currently has it for $100 off and $9.99 shipping. Still not as cheap as Memory Express, but there's at least stock at newegg.

This is the real story of the Afghan biometric databases abandoned to the Taliban

We should get our swearing in while we can then - damn dirty dems!

Is this good card for mining

That was the same GPU I got before I finally acquired a 3080 and sold the 3090. And, yeah, that GPU could mine well enough.

    Nintendo software only.

Didn't they kinda do that with Pokemon?

    How is Nintendo successful?

Big factor for Nintendo's success is their family friendly platform. I've got a 6 year old and setting up a Switch for him was a breeze. It was easy to setup the hardware for him to use on his own: no inappropriate content, no unauthorized purchases; And he's easily able to navigate the UI...

Is 2021 a dud for gaming?

Definitely a lighter year for new gaming and the upcoming schedule still looks light. I've mostly been using the slow period to catch up on my backlog (which is huge). Hades, Horizon Zero Dawn PC, Spider-Man Remaster/Miles Morales, Ni No Kuni 2 are a few of the titles I've been playing through...

    Gigabyte AORUS FO48U 48" 4K 120Hz OLED

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gigabyte-aorus-fo48u Very positive review. Just need Canadian availability (or an open border!).

Early tests of Steam deck promising

Good watch; I'm really liking the thermals they got (larger form factor, so it makes sense). The Steam Deck might actually have me looking forward to going on travel again.

    3dfx Making a Comeback?

I would've preferred a hoax versus having a 3DFX sticker on cheap electronic garbage.

    3dfx Making a Comeback?

It'd be more interested... if instead of being a Nvidia or AMD AIB, they ended up being a Intel AIB for their upcoming high end GPUs. Position themselves as the EVGA for Intel's GPU. I'd be on board with that strategy.
