Honestly i dont know what was on it, i was just trying to wipe it. Trying to goto 2118IT. The card showed up in windows but i didn't try to install a driver or anything.
I am trying to crossflash a IBM M1015 to LSI9211-IT mode.
I run
megarec -writesbr 0 sbrempty.bin
megarec -cleanflash 0
cleanflash fails at 40%, i have tried it on three motherboards, a Supermicro, Zotac and an old Gigabyte and it always fails at 40%, the card comes up in adplist but...
Do i even need to flash the m1015 as i will not be using hw raid? secondly can i use one of the external ports on the chenbro 36 port expander to go to input on another chenbro expander? or can i just use both m1015 ports to goto 2 chenbro expanders? will that card really support 48 drives?
I already have the NIC cards, and i have them in place now and i use them to move stuff around on the network, it really doesnt matter.
Is there a guide for how to flash the m1015, i had looked at this option before i thought and it was a pain in the butt. If i understand properly, one of the...
I want (4) gigabit ports for streaming and transferring files through the house hold, I have 6 PCs that at any given time may be streaming or transferring files off the server. Is the 3 supermicro cards a better option than say one 24 drive Areca, i mean then i would just need 2 pcie ports
Ok, right now i have an amalgamation of 30+ drives over three servers i will be migrating into one 24bay Norco case. I am looking at Intel E3-1270V2 or V3. The problem lies with how to connect the drives. I plan to use windows and Flexraid, as it has worked well for me. Right now i am looking at...
So i am building a fileserver, but i would like to use a Intel Core i5-2500 due to its ability to handle video encoding as i do a lot of that, but also not use a ton of power. But i am also looking for the board to have dual gigabit ports that are both intel, so i can do link aggregation (LACP)...
Would the best bet be just to use a HP expander card in the other case and just run a cable from the external port on the areca and call it good? Are there major speed bottlenecks over these types of links or is it unnoticeable for a media server? The main reason im looking at an expander card...

Lets say i wanted to expand it to another 24 bay case but wanted to just use a single mb / cpu what would be the best way to do 2 (24) drive setups?
Thanks
I am looking at a 24 drive rack setup and I was wondering if there is a reason to put a 6 port internal Areca ARC-1880ix-24-4G vice using a an expander card like a Chenbro and a smaller Areca card?
