my problem with this board was it shorting against the case try running it without it being bolted into the case with something insulating the back of the board the bottom of the caps on this board stick out miles does my nut in

u guys over in the us should think yourselves lucky here in rip off britain we gota pay close to $370 usd for a 8800gt just now and i thought finally a good card for a good price to get rid of my aging badly since crysis demo 6800gt damn u crytek . guess i gota wait till the amd pulls...

made abt a 100mhz diff on my fsb made flaky stable so for me it worked but for others it does nothing like all overclocking its hit and miss

i think the diff between mine and yours is your using quad core im only on dual less power draw so more able to clock . a good tip ive been told which helps me overclock a wee bit further is to put a heat sink on the power regulators just next to the socket it does let me push higher with this board

any point in having the bridge connected if your not using SLI ? the bridge is only used for both cards to communicate when in SLI mode

if the boards dead it should still be under asus w'tee 12 months u get. not a major overhaul just a board swap i had one die on me and had to get it replaced no problems since. and for your sake i hope its just the board and it hasnt taken more stuff down with it. sounds like a cap mighta...

have to say i went to vista 64bit abt 3 weeks ago and i am a whisker away from dumping my xp install from dual boot everything so far is working faster and more reliably and the only problem an 8 year old webcam doesnt work with it yeah i know the hardship lol all my software and games run...

prob the bios version asus has released a newer version which i think addresses g0 stepping support version 703 http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us only problem ive found with the new bios is theres a fsb hole around the 400 mark now

had the same board for over 6 months with e6600 running @ 300fsb with ddr 400 had no problems with the board i just stuck the voltage setting to high and the memory to 333 in the bios once it was clocked to 300fsb for cpu the dividers took the memory to 390mhz and i ran 24/7 rock solid...

poss the board is earthing on the case you could try the board outa the case or put something non conductive between the board and case motherboard tray

bah bios 703 has bloody fsb holes previous bios would happily run @ 1600 fsb 703 wont run, either 1500 or 1650+ no problems tho so beware if you want to run 1600fsb leave 703 well alone
