My son’s looking to upgrade his gaming pc, below are his specs. Can you please advise of what to upgrade next? Ideally I’d like it under $200, but if it’s above that and we need to save up please let me know.
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce rtx 4060
CPU: intel i5-13400F 3,5 GHz
RAM: 32 gb ddr5
Mobo: Asus...
I’m going to a MicroCenter for the first time. With my current build listed below, are there any recommendations on what to upgrade if I’m trying to keep it under $200?
GPU: AMD Radeon rx 580 2048sp
CPU: AMD ryzen 5 3600
RAM: 16 gb DDR4-3200
Mobo: ASRock a320M/ac
Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for your input! I ended up getting the rx580 and the kids are loving their upgraded systems!
Now… any advice on what the next logical upgrade(s) would be lol? Would it make sense to get a better monitor (current has refresh rate of 75 Hz)… or is it a...
Hello again. Well, I’ve bought some components; so far I’ve put the PSUs in both PCs, next up I was planning on adding the SSD in each. I realize these may not have been the most optimal choices (like I know 700w is way more than needed) but I was in a big box store and there they were…

Thank you so much!
On the RAM - I was originally thinking of 16gb, it was just so close in price it’s hard to pass up! I was gonna go with this Corsair 32gb for $68 (vs $40 for 16gb)… but if you think that’s overkill I’m happy to save some $
Think my kids are watching too many YouTube videos lol. I’m a bit rusty on hardware, but I didn’t think their monitors would be the bottleneck.
So even with all the upgrades at play (psu, up to 32g ram, rx 580, ssd) - there’s no benefit from a different monitor?
The latest in the upgrade saga for my kids - they really want new monitors. They currently both have a Dell S2421NX. Been a long time since I’ve looked at monitors… is there anything folks would recommend under $200? One of my sons said he heard this would be a good option: AOC C24G1A
Thank you!
What’s the consensus on buying used? As you can see I’m not aiming for the latest and greatest speed demon by any stretch of the imagination… but imagine stuff like PSUs and SSDs would be a no-no for used. Would RAM be okay used?
