AMD & NVIDIA GPU VR Performance in Trials on Tatooine @ [H]

Even if they did reject them for an invalid reason, the records of that would be available in public. The changes would therefore both be available to anyone, as well as bring negative publicity to Epic. Point being I suppose is that it's in Epic's best interest for AMD to have dedicated...

AMD & NVIDIA GPU VR Performance in Trials on Tatooine @ [H]

Everything except console-specific source for Xbone and PS4, which requires additional access through normal third party licensing. The core engine, as well as PC and mobile platforms for UE4 are effectively open source. The same goes for the new Unreal Tournament, which is elsewhere on Epic's...

AMD & NVIDIA GPU VR Performance in Trials on Tatooine @ [H]

My bad, just saw this. Unless they're choosing to do it behind closed doors, all pull requests, branches, and commits are viewable with a free developer account on Epic's github. Even if Epic wasn't integrating into mainline, the changes would be available there as pullable third-party...

AMD & NVIDIA GPU VR Performance in Trials on Tatooine @ [H]

Realistically, what every other UE4 developer is doing. Fork the Git repo and work on the engine changes, submit them to Epic, and everyone is happy. Epic has been extremely forward in allowing third parties to work on the engine this time around, so AMD has nobody to blame but themselves here...

    Official Overwatch Discussion Thread

The general problem here is that you're basing your supposed knowledge on two very specific examples; Source-based games and a GoldSrc mod in Natural Selection. While those examples may not split logic and render updates, modern multithreaded engines certainly at least support this type of...

What are your favorite sad games?

While probably best called an interactive story, To the Moon is one of the downright saddest games I've ever played. I'd probably throw in Alan Wake here if you're looking for a more typical game experience, and no big coincidence it shares developers with Max Payne 2

    Is Undertale really goty?

Honestly, it was good, but not great, and certainly not GOTY, let alone GOAT. I suspect people are getting caught up in the story, which is admittedly good, and ignoring that mechanically it has its share of problems. As is normal in Gamefaqs polls, there's probably also a fairly large amount...

    Tribes Ascend now live

6-12 month project for questionable gains? For the most part, copy/paste of code to a new engine still isn't going to replicate the game as it was. UE2->UE3 was probably a fairly clean transition possibility for a lot, but UE3->UE4 is a tough transition. Material system fairly different, so...

    Traveling(flying) with Mini-ITX system

I've traveled with one of these a handful of times. Other than the general confused looks of it being that small it tends to not be any different than a laptop for getting through.

WoW; 5th expansion Warlords of Draenor

LFR is easy enough that no voice chat is required. Difficulty is not much higher than heroic dungeons, and the player count pads that fairly heavily. It's basically a way for people to see the content and do their gear progression.

Windows 7 - possible to show taskbar on all monitors in multi-monitor setup?

External solutions exist (Ex: Ultramon), but you're right about it being a built in feature of 8, and not a built in feature of 7.

Disappointed with Shin Megami Tensei IV

It's a very long tail game. It starts EXTREMELY SLOW. Until you get out of the starter area (that being the first 5 floors of the area you're in), it's definitely a grind. After that the story goes through a fairly large plot twist, and the environment opens up a lot, including the use of...

Proof current high-end PC's are already fast enough for next-gen ports?

Kind of. It wasn't particularly practical for PCs right now either. Having your target machine be a high end quad core i7, 680+, and 8+ gigs of RAM at 30 FPS isn't practical for the PC market. Looking at Steam hardware surveys, next-gen consoles are probably even at the higher end of average...

Proof current high-end PC's are already fast enough for next-gen ports?

I kind of wish there was an updated video of the elemental demo running on PC on the current engine build. In its current state, it looks a lot more similar to the PS4 demo, and in video form would look indistinguishable. General changes to the engine and lighting system in the last year...

    WoW 5.2 Graphics Question

I haven't noticed anything other than usual mods breaking things occasionally, but a few guild members noticed unusual framerate drops around the main Pandaria towns when a lot of people are around. Part of it may be heavier populations immediately post-patch, but it seems to be a bigger drop...
