    I'd like to see this same test with 1x8GB and then 2x4GB. I still imagine it would be faster with the dual channel sticks however. Regarding the topic, I just stuck with 1866 on my 16gb of ram. Not worth the extra cost for 2400 to me, especially when it may hinder any OC potential of the CPU.

    Now if you wanted a nice DDR1 system, then you should be concerned more about latency =) In your case though, the difference isn't even noticeable. 7-7-7 to 8-8-8, you won't notice it, plus you'll have 200mhz faster frequency.

    What the douce would you need 12GB of ram for? Planning on opening 100+ applications, video encoding, and playing a game, along with hosting a gaming server all at the same time? I'd go with the faster frequency myself.

    Keep the stickers on the RAM as they will void the warranty if removed. Your best bet is to just use the new RAM and chuck the older stuff away, pertaining the newer is quite a bit better. You need to list more info than that though.
