    Look at the Samsung P2350. It is a nice upgrade from my Dell US 1905FP. I do not do much of video viewing on this LCD, so cannot answer your last question. Do keep in mind that viewing angles in all these new 16:9 monitors are quite narrow though.

    EAC DAE Speeds?

    There is a setting in EAC under Drive Options>Drive to spin up drive before extraction. Ensure this is checked off / enabled.
