I'm pretty sure the Z77 chipset can't run two cards at 16 lanes each, even if your CPU could. I believe you can only run two cards at 8 lanes each. This might depend on the motherboard, but I'm pretty sure that's the case for all Z77 boards.
If you run a card in slots 1 and 3 on the Extreme...
I didn't realize that DDR4 will only support one stick per channel. I guess it will at least serve to free up some space on the motherboard.
It's always fun to speculate, I suppose. I'm trying to decide whether it would be worthwhile to wait for LGA 2011-3 boards to release, and I wanted to...
Don't worry, I still love you guys. :)
I probably brain-farted when I posted this is the Motherboards forum anyways, so might I have this thread moved to Memory or deleted?
Thank you!
Say what you want, but I got 1000s of hours of 1080p gameplay out of my PS3 that I picked up used for $150. And I got to play on my 51" plasma TV, not some 27" LCD panel. Compared to the $10,000 that some gamers spend on their ridiculous gaming rigs, I think I made out pretty well.
I also...
I know that LGA 2011-3 will support DDR4, but is anyone willing to speculate as to what sort of RAM capacity I could expect with the motherboards coming out next year?
I have no idea whether this will be determined by the X99 chipset or the DDR4 memory controller, but I'm curious whether...
The 2630 is substantially cheaper than the other two. The E5-2680 v2 is Ivy Bridge-E, whereas the other two are Sandy Bridge-E. After taking another look at the series, I think I really prefer the E5-2690 v2. It's 10 core like the 2680 v2, but the cores are clocked at 3.0 Ghz, and it's only...
You're better off going to User CP>>Edit Options and adjusting your thread options to display whatever you want. I set mine to show all threads going back to the beginning.
If you edit it from the bottom of the forum page, I'm pretty sure you would have to do it every time you jump forums or...
I recently sought input over on another forum and received zero replies. Over there I feel like I am shouting out workstation-related questions in a sea of gamers. 90% of the threads over there revolve around gaming, which isn't something that interests me, anymore.
I'd also like to say that...
