Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
everything is workin fine now, the only problem i have is the 3 time boot thing.
Basically first time i press the power button, it makes a huge starting noise for about 4-5 seconds then turns off. Starts again after a second or two, tries and then stops.
Third time it starts and then beeps...
I just put everything in and started it up, and it worked! proud of myself much haha
However! I've only just done it this minute and here are the findings:
My PC boots, you can here everything starting to go, and then it stops, does it again, then stops..then on the third try it fully...
Just wondering what the best way to replace the PSU is?
Take the PSU out, then put it to one side and take out all the cables that they lead to
Or take all of the leads out and then take it out? :S
Or should i go from the PSU and follow the leads to where they go, then unplug? :D
To be honest, i've been believing you over them, as it sounds as if they're recommending a PSU as if i had like 3 HD's, 2x4850's and a quadcore or w/e
Gonna buy that 450 sometime today i think :)
Right :@ sorry to keep posting as you've helped me loads, but ive asked the same question on another tech support forum, and they've been saying..
&
So yeah..not sure what to do :((
Just seen on the side of the 4850 box it says
"450 watt or greater power supply with 75 watt 6-pin PCI Express power connector recommended"
Does the Corsair have that? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-016-CS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1084
Yeah im gonna get the Corsair 450w i think.
So i get the card, put it in that top black pci-e slot. Plug one end of the power cord in the video card and the other in the corsair PSU, put it all together and thats it?
edit: also people have said il need a minimum of 500-600 :S
Also, will my...
Yeah but the 450 is too much :( im poor atm haha
Its between the 400w corsair and the 500w OCZ.
Also, thanks for the PCI-e help. however, im still unsure as to where all the leads go, like the power cable 8 molex thing that comes with it etc
:(
Right your all gonna hate me after this :)
Just opened my unit up again and tried to see where the card would fit in, and i do not have the faintest idea. I've taken some more pictures inside but i can honestly say ive not a clue. It also says i'd have to plug the graphics card power cord in...
How is a 400w better than a 500w though :S confusingg.
The 450w is more expensive than the 500w.
Also, someone said the 400w is the bare minimum to get? surely it would he playin it safe to get a 500w? or will that 400w be able to handle the card?
