Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Finally, a good excuse to clean up my home office setup!
The Razer is my mobile gaming/VM-work environment. Desktop is my home gaming/VM-work environment. The HP ML350 G6 tower under the desk is my ESXi/HyperV (depending on what's going on) lab environment. The HP all-in-one is my...
Haven't seen a thread about one yet so figured I'd throw this up here. I just ordered my Razer Blade QHD+ 512GB with 1060 today. Looking forward to having a laptop be my daily-driver again. If anyone is interested, I will post some benchmarks once I get it next week
My boss has a couple of 1.5 TB WD Green drives in a RAID1 in his DS411+ and other than being slow they've been pretty stable. There are definitely some access speed issues due to the drive power-down that can make file manipulation on the drive do weird things, but using it as a backup spot...
It is my primary production workstation for my home business, as well as my video encoding workstation for volunteer projects and such so I couldn't afford to wait too long.
As for going with the i7 over i5 my experience between my wife's i5 and my 920 has been that it is worth it to have the...
So my 4 year old workstation stopped booting this morning, and my wife gave the okay, so I ordered the parts for my return to SFF this afternoon and hope to start on the build this Tuesday if everything arrives on time.
Here's what I ended up with:
i7 4770k
Asrock Z87E-ITX
EVGA GTX670 SC...
I live in Eastern WA as well - Pasco, which means I have the choice of Frontier DSL (formerly Verizon), Charter cable, or PocketInet fixed wireless. Charter it is for me.
Thankfully Charter has been ramping up their speeds every couple of years here, and hasn't started imposing usage caps...
Ended up grabbing a Lenovo Y510P for her while it was on sale at Newegg earlier in the month. She loves it, and I must say it performs quite admirably for a sub-$1000 gaming notebook.
Now I'm looking at the Gigabyte P35K. Very similar specs to the MSI GS70, but smaller and option to have an internal DVD/RW drive is a bonus for my wife's needs. User-upgradeable/replaceable storage is also a huge bonus for me. Hopefully more reviews become available next week upon release.
I'm running a similar setup and see no need to upgrade anytime soon. Heck, I haven't even overclocked my 920 in a year and I've never experienced a "need" for anything faster even with newer games (Tomb Raider, Far Cry 3, Witcher 2).
Personally, I don't like when I get spammed with the ads in my FB feed. But if I see a friend like or recommend a local business I'm more-likely to check them out than if I see the sign driving down the street.
I can't tell you how the larger versions are, but my 50" Vizio M501 has a gorgeous picture and great passive 3D (yay for cheap glasses), and is super thin. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with a Panasonic VT series plasma if you have the space.
