    Building vs. Buying.

Real computers are built, not bought.

    Random BSoDs

Well the problem with replacing this motherboard is it is damn near impossible to find a good socket A board anywhere other then eBay. Anyone know of any other sites that might still be selling an Nforce2 motherboard?

Enermax Galaxy DXX Series PSU @ [H]

Am I the only one that noticed the 1276 watts it was pulling at from the wall at 100%? Even at 1032 at 80% seems like it is getting excessive. It is just a matter of time before PSUs come with warnings that they need a dedicated breaker. That said I wish I had a system that needed this beast.

Using a laptop as a monitor for a desktop ?

I have worked on laptops in the past and it would be difficult to say the least to get a normal VGA output from a desktop computer to work through the laptop. Without some kind of input on the laptop to run the video through I would say it is nearly impossible.

    Perplexing Intermittent Problem

Based on the NV4_Disp.dll error I would look into checking the graphics card more closely. Double check the temp reading in the Nvidia control panel and try torturing the graphics card with something like 3DMark to see if your problem lies there.

    Random BSoDs

I have been having problems with my system over the last few weeks and I have completely run out of solutions. I am hoping someone here can come up with something I have missed. When I was installing my new PSU I noticed a blown cap near my RAM (see horrible picture below) This is the best...

Did I miss something or was there nothing in there about grilling their tech support about the older nvidia driver that caused problems in FEAR?

    iBUYPOWER P4 Custom @ [H] Consumer

After reading the review, I decided to see if iBUYPOWER was really that bad. So I did some research. I checked a few websites and found that quite a few sites had given them decent reviews *cough PCmag cough ZDnet cough* That is where the problems starts for me. On the one site they had...

Whats the most powerful card that i can run

I wouldn't go much higher then what you have. In any case PSUs are cheap, just replace it with something that can handle the load. Normally you can pick up a nice PSU for about $100.00 or you could get a cheap 450 watt for well under $40.00.

    Dead 6800?

I am having a little trouble with my graphics card. I was playing a little C&C Generals on Saturday, Everything was running well for about an hour and a half. I jumped out of the game to check the GPU temp as the room temp was about 90 degrees. The Nvidia control panel reported 77 degrees...

    360 HDDVD connected via USB

USB 2.0 has a 480mpbs max theoretical bandwidth. Which translates into 60 megs per second. That said nothing ever reaches it's theoretical bandwidth. I would think they could get it up to 40 megs per second without too much trouble though. Microsoft probably knows what it is doing. I doubt...

revolution name is gone. Long live....

Revolution was a much better name IMO. But it really doesn't matter what we Americans think. Nintendo is going to sell these things by the tens of thousands in Japan.

Now that is something that I would like to see, company reps joining the discussion here after the reviews.
