    Official NVIDIA Ampere In-Stock Thread

I'm beyond irritated by the entire GPU market. I've had the same graphics card since 2016. The 2000 series was an overpriced joke, and now that there are actually cards worth the money to buy, you can't actually buy one. It really feels like NVIDIA doesn't actually care about the gaming market...

    Where Gaming Begins: Ep. 2 | AMD Radeon™ RX 6000 Series Graphics Cards - 11am CDT 10/28/20

I'm interested in Raytracing for Cyberpunk 2077 and the Witcher 3 patch that will add it, but aside from that I think we're still a generation away, maybe two, before it's ubiquitious. At the same price I'd probably opt for a better RT card, but 6900XT is $500 cheaper than the 3090, and looks to...

    Where Gaming Begins: Ep. 2 | AMD Radeon™ RX 6000 Series Graphics Cards - 11am CDT 10/28/20

I'm just glad that we can argue about feature set nuances like ray tracing and DLSS this round. It was boring watching NVIDIA stomp AMD on performance and AMD having to compete on pricing alone. Regardless of what card you buy, I think we can all agree that it's very impressive that AMD has...

DDR4 for Zen 3 build - Mhz vs CAS latency?

I'm going to keep the memory I have now (3800MHz CL16) and wait a month or two and see what memory manufacturers release. If Zen 3 really does recommend 4000MHz as the sweet spot I imagine we'll see more competition (and lower prices).

DDR4 for Zen 3 build - Mhz vs CAS latency?

FWIW I have that Vengeance memory kit running at 3800MHz CL16 no problems on my 3900X. I was able to cut memory latency down from mid 70s to 66.3ns through tweaking it. It's not "as good" as Samsung B-dies but it's also readily available and easy to overclock.

It matters if you plan to water cool because you'll need to match up the AIB design with the correct water block. I'd take an EVGA, ASUS TUF, or FE board preferably.

    Official NVIDIA Ampere In-Stock Thread

I don't disagree, but I have a very highly overclocked Titan X Pascal, it benchmarks around 2070S/2080 level so I don't feel the 3070 is enough of an upgrade for me. I play at 1440p 144Hz.

    Personally no, I'd rather get a 3080 or if I have to, a 3090.

If there's a ton more 3070 inventory than 3080/3090 inventory guess that will confirm yields aren't amazing.

Microsoft Internal Documents - Permanent Work From Home

It depends on where you are and what you do. I admit I was being a bit flippant about the situation, but I work for a very large software company and they absolutely do care about job performance and institutional knowledge. I've been there for 10 years and it's not really possible to replace me...

Institutional knowledge is hard to outsource.

You don't really need Ampere or Big Navi... UNLESS! (Display tech post)

Finished my new monster watercooling setup.

Thanks. I built it to combine high performance with low noise. I can run the fans at very low RPM and the case is actually quite a bit quieter than you'd think. My NAS sitting in the corner of the room is louder when the fans spin up. But the temps are incredibly low. The other day I was playing...

Finished my new monster watercooling setup.

I know, :( But it's the design of the case. The 120mm fan openings actually aren't even side to side. The one fan is missing because I can't fit a fan there with the 480mm rad mounted in that location.
