That is because of bugs with powertune etc. Uninstall your driver download newest ati 7970performance driver without installing ccc. Then install latest afterburner beta 12 set it to run as windows. Now set powertune with afterburner to 20% and monitor gpu and memory clocks with gpuz as that is...
For me it resets powertune when afterburner goes into 2d mode clocks. So im not sure actually i cant find any solution that powertune doesnt reset when gpu goes into 2d mode.
-_- I have said in the beginning that it is afterburner that makes powertune reset. For the 3th time 2d mode resets powertune. No its not the psu .....
I like ati and all but i think its just not acceptable that they dont make something like afterburner in ccc itself. The company makes so much money and they dont even make something like this. -_-
I use single gpu. It does infact save it to 20% wen i check it but it still throttles so it doesnt apply good. The only thing it really doesnt throttle is if i set it in ccc then run furmark it doesnt throttle i quit furmark then it resets to 0% disabling overdrive and set powertune value to 20...
Hi, i monitored afterburner with overdrive. When it goes into 2d profile. The powertune setting reset to 0%. Its logic i know since 20% is only bound to 3d. But ive seen alot of people dont have this bug.
So basically when i set it to 20% and then run furmark it doesnt throttle but when i quit...
Well everyone said be carefull with vrm and stuff. While in theory with new hwmonitor you can check vrm temps. And it doesnt rly get very hot. Just check it with new hwmonitor if its low then i would only care about core temp.
I would use gpu-z to monitor real voltage.
There is high chance that also your gpu doesnt get enough voltage. I experienced that whenever i oc to high ( can also be stock it depends every chip is different) that it will just crash. And when it crashes it goes to 2d modus so maybe that is the...
Gpu-z is the real measured voltage afterburner shows target voltage however latest ab fixed it showing real measured voltage altho it doesnt show for me i tried to set the 2 things in .cfg but its ok i can use gpu-z to monitor. Gpu-z 0.5.8
It will not void warranty because you're setting it with software and ati can't find out they would have had to hack your pc but come on ofc they are not going to do that :P
I have experienced that it only throttles with furmark. With games and benchmarks it doesnt get throttled. Afterburner...
What do people think is max safe temps for reference 7970?
Also if i set like 1.225v will vrm temp be much higher?.
I have wel airflowed case i think that will make vrm temp lower right?
Well if i put alot of volts on it i have a feeling i can do even higher. But why would i :P dont want to run my gpu at 1.3v. At 1.12v between 1.14v load i can run 1220 so maybe 1300 should be doable at 1.2v
