Linux may only protect you from the OS side of it. If you run a game, application or tool from a company utilizing this technology if implemented it will be monitoring you. So while better, Linux is still impacted.

7970 was a great card! And it kept staying solid for sooo long. Nothing for a while after it really moved the needle far enough ahead for me to justify the cost :o Until the 1080 Ti. Which I ran till the 50XX series turned out to be vaporware lol. But the 7970 was a solid card.

Oddly my tracked most played game is DOTA 2 and PUBG. I have not actively played DOTA 2 since they reworked everything in 2014 lol. A round or two here or there and some TD but no real play and its still my top played O_O PUBG was hard core till 1.0 then it tapered off and only casual mode...
