Surprised no one has mentioned the R9 295X2. It's faster than the cards in this review can be bought for a similar price as the 980ti.

So at a bare minimum it would need to hit 75hz/fps at 1920x1080 to be passable. Lower refresh rates/fps ruin the experience, and the Rift DK1's resolution of 1280x800 produces a notable screen door effect. I can't see how either of the consoles can pull this off well. The cloud? Heh

It's not just Windows 8 and tablets that may be eating into PC sales. The general slowdown in technology has to play a part. My 3 year old i7 based system is still going strong so I don't feel the need to update and I'm a power user. Why would the average user want to update their few years...
