"You have nothing to fear if you have nothing to hide."
Joseph Goebbels (Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda) coined that term in the run up to WW2. It was also said by a character in Orwell's 1984 (which was published in 1949 btw).
It seems modern media now act as 'Public...
So at a bare minimum it would need to hit 75hz/fps at 1920x1080 to be passable. Lower refresh rates/fps ruin the experience, and the Rift DK1's resolution of 1280x800 produces a notable screen door effect.
I can't see how either of the consoles can pull this off well.
The cloud? Heh
A couple of weeks ago they had important people telling us they don't collect this crap - under oath. The powers that be are all liars and take the general public for fools (I guess they are). I hope the public wake up, because TPTB keep taking more and more from us.
Online petitions mean bugger all, and even if they did mean something the US government is beyond caring. The frequency of lies and all the mysterious deaths/"suicides" is frankly ridiculous.
But obviously I must be a nutjob for thinking this....
The way Gearbox handled the whole Alien:CM thing means I'm done with them. They bullshit their way through development of the game (whether they made it or not isn't relevant) and continue to bullshit and claim innocence to this very day.
Pack of liars.
I'm not too bothered if it's done to Let's Play videos, but if it covers reviews/guides etc then it's a bit crap.
Imo if you want to make a career out of Youtubing you need to do something a little more than live commentary on a game. Any moron can do it, and may harm singleplayer game sales...
The way Metacritic averages scores is incorrect. A game review site that uses a rating of 1 to 5 to score games will rate games at 5 (i.e. 100% to Metacritic) more than reviewers who use a 1-10 system or percentage. Mathematically a 5/5 is the same as 10/10 or 100/100 but when you're talking...
It's not just Windows 8 and tablets that may be eating into PC sales. The general slowdown in technology has to play a part. My 3 year old i7 based system is still going strong so I don't feel the need to update and I'm a power user. Why would the average user want to update their few years...
Meanwhile, Gearbox (the company who got the rights from Sega to make the game outsourced it to make their own games instead) is laughing all the way to the bank.
Even though I didn't buy A:CM I won't be purchasing any Gearbox titles in the future. Bunch of liars, especially their CEO.
Would...

Good overview of the whole thing, including an audio recording of the guy who discovered the thing and the guy who wrote the code that enabled the mining.
It would be interesting to know how many Xbox's on average has the average active consumer has gone through.
I couldn't justify having to buy a 4th Xbox.
Don't really see the point of it really - the game has been out so long (and discounted so many times) that anyone who has an interest in the game probably already owns it.
I see it as a collector's edition. It really doesn't deserve the press it's getting.
I can't see battery powered sports cars ever getting close to the practicability of a comparable conventional sports car - they're always going to take a long time to recharge the battery.
I could see a hydrogen sports car doing it though, just because having a liquid fuel tank is much better...
The game has a lot of bugs, some of which have been in the game and reported in alphas/beta clients of the game. There isn't a lot of variety in weapons and the UI is consolised so much it's horrible to use on a PC.
They rushed it to meet the TV show's schedule, for me they did "just fucking...
Just PR speak. Like anything a big company says is ever worth taking seriously.
It's simply impossible to make a console with a TDP of 200-250W comparable to PCs which can output 4 or 5 times the wattage - even with the optimisations of console development + low power parts.
I have the base game but never got round to finishing it. Think I'll wait to the whole lot of DLC goes on sale as that's the only way you'll ever find value in franchises that do DLC this aggressively.
An always online xbox will probably lock games to your xbox live account (it makes sense, doesn't it?)... so no used games.
I can't see it happening. Microsoft can't afford to go the always online route when their biggest competitor hasn't.
Watched a few lets plays of the game a couple of months back. It looks like a decent game, with about as much depth as a Theme Hospital or Tycoon type game - however it's very expensive for what it is. I mean how long after release until it's on sale on Steam, or until it appears in a humble...
Wouldn't be surprised if it was the US, China, or any major power (or neighbour of NK). Every state is at it in some form, and don't think for a second that just because us in the western world are 'the good guys' we wouldn't do the dirty cyber attacks the likes of China have been doing...
AMD probably did take less money then Nvidia would have, but I'd imagine AMD's solution would be a lot cheaper to manufacture than Nvidia's - seeing as they have reasonably powerful x86 APUs and NV don't. That would lead to another extra layer that needs paid for (contracting out an x86 CPU)...
The dev is right (even if he made a crap game), modern shooters do compress the skill caps. Can't really blame businesses for doing it either - making games more accessible and social (yawn everything has to be 'social') sells more copies of games. Consumers are not interested in spending...
XI3 are probably aware their product isn't great performance wise.... but when your product has been labelled by the press and the masses as the 'Steam Box' it doesn't have to be any good - people will just buy the thing, so maybe Valve going out of their way to say they have nothing to do with...
It will be faster than a typical PC for years to come. However it won't be faster than PCs that people like us own.
My 30month old rig that's had a few upgrades along the way ON PAPER is more powerful than the PS4. The only exception would be the GDDR5, but it's obvious to see why it had...
Lord British has been banging on about social games.... expect this to me some Facebooked, or social version of Ultima..... naturally with a particularly bad free-to-play model (like most Facebook/iOS/social tripe around today).
The fact they have to do this is daft but they broke the agreement and could have been fined up to 10% of their annual revenue (which is a lot more than what they have been fined).
It's Microsoft's fault, it's not like this is a new thing the EU does. Why risk getting fined by removing it in...
I find it difficult to listen to devs talk about their current game. Of course he's going to say Crysis 3 is their masterpiece, and that the previous games in the franchise aren't as good. He's not going to turn around and say "You know what, Crysis 1 was better!".
I don't trust game...
They could do with removing the Ask toolbar when you install updates too. I'm fed up having to go through friends/family computers to remove the thing because in their haste they just hit next without reading.
Killzone shown at PS4 event runs at 30fps?! I'd be tempted to buy a console and get some sort of KB+M adapter (3rd party or otherwise) but I'm not playing games at a paltry 30fps. :(
Microtransactions can be a good thing, even in games you have to pay for. Things like cosmetic upgrades that make your character look different, or other things that don't alter the gameplay experience.
However, I don't trust a big publisher to get it right. They'll charge money to level up...
