Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Mine isn't too fancy. 11" x 8.5 Cloth with rubber backing. Believe the brand is XTRAC. Works great. In the future I might buy a steel pad so I don't have to worry about peeling edges.
I've never had a problem with my video cards. I make sure I keep them free of dust. Granted, I never OC them. (Geforce 4 TI 4400, Radeon X800 AGP, 7800GT)
I'm most impressed with my FX5900. It has been running for 5 years without a hitch. Maybe I'm lucky?
I haven't OCed mine yet, probably won't for awhile. Just curious- What resolution are you playing at and what games are having the issues?
I'm @ 1920X1200 and my card doesn't break a sweat, granted, I haven't tried Crysis yet!
I'd get the Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS over the others. It's on sale for $65.00 right now. Ten bucks cheaper than last week. Quickest of the bunch too. If you have the extra $15.00, it will serve you well.

To those of you who are considering a purchase from ZZF... check out this reseller ratings page. http://www.resellerratings.com/store/ZipZoomFly Now check out Newegg's. http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Newegg My 5870 was purchased from Newegg on Fri and will be here on Wed according to...
With only gaming in mind.. I wouldn't upgrade the CPU at this point. If your bent on upgrading, save your money for i5/i7 or do as skadebo stated, something that will benefit you noticeably. (SSD, peripherals, sound card/speakers, etc)
I don't think you should wait for the next generation. The 5870 offers a great performance increase over the 4890. If I were you and wanted to squeeze a few more FPS out of my rig, I'd do one of three things.
1. Sell the 4890 and put that $ towards a 5870.
2. Buy another 4890 for Crossfire...
+1
Instead of saving up for a 5870, save up for a monitor and 5850. Probably cost about the same. The 5870 would be major overkill for the resolution you run.
+1 for the 5870. DX11 support, cost to performance ratio, and the most powerful single GPU option for the time being. It will last you a bit longer. Personally I'd rather go with the purchase that future proofs me a bit. Just my humble opinion!
EDIT: With that bit of info available now, I'd go...
