Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
So I just got hold of a HiSense 43H6D for $190, and I didn't know until after I got it that it had HDR capabilities, and it's also my first 4K display, and I'm using it for my PC monitor (I really just wanted a good replacement for my 32" 1080 display but this somehow was almost just as cheap)...
So I have the Gigabite Z87N-Wifi, which came with a Centrino 2230 wireless N single-band card.
I just upgraded it to a Centrino 7260AC, and while it's working well, I have the issue of the old antennae only being single-band 2.4ghz, so my 5g reception is miserable.
Knowing what I know about...
So I've been looking into getting a mechanical keyboard for my office.
At home i use a keyboard with MX Blacks and love it. I'm looking for something more muted for my office, and just happened to stumble on a deal on the Logitech G610, and it looks like a nice keyboard for a more muted office...
I looked at this, thought it would be a good step up from my G700 - better battery, LED lighting, same wireless switching.....
But it looks like they followed the path of the Razer Naga and made it so you have to plug the charge cable into the wireless adapter, making it a complete hassle to...
I used to be an AMD guy all the way but for the past few years I've been rolling intel since the FX series never really took off and AMD shifted focus to APUs. Is there a viable AMD counterpart to the Skylake i5s for top-end gaming right now?
Small update - Checked Biostar's page - looks like they put out a beta bios update last year for compatibility for Powercolor's 7870. Methinks it might be the same issue I'm having. I've installed it, going to try to install again tomorrow night.
I dont know any differences other than the fact that the MSI has 2x6pin, and the powercolor only has one. Trying to find the spec sheets so someone else with more knowledge can pick through.
I'm also apparently a genius, because my MSI is a 7870. The powercolor is also apparently only a PCIE2.1...
All,
I got the powercolor 7850 from the recent Newegg rebate deal, and I tried installing it earlier and ran into major issues- im wondering if the collective would know if there is a compatibility issues. I'm only wondering because I've tried quite a few configurations - all but the one I...
Power consumption is not a concern, as I have 5 active gaming PCs in the same house - a file server is the least of my electrical concerns.
And the microcenter is <10 min from my office.
Yeah, I know I'm strange, but its more for that move into the future, moving away from WHS towards a...
As Tirarides said, you'll have to upgrade the entire system. That processor is first gen phenom - meaning AM2, and DDR2, which are outdated. Cheapest you'll get is replacing the MB, proc, and memory - and hoping for it to fit in the case. Even then, you'll be hurting without a graphics card...
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
***I have a WHS box that died - not entirely sure whats wrong with it but it needed to be upgraded anyways. I hardly used the backup capability - mostly just the file serve, and I also used it to host servers for...
Hey guys,
I've read up on displayport a bit, and I know that the original displayport was video only - which was why I believed that HDMI would win the war. However, with mini-displayport/thunderbolt, obviously it has a few more uses now. I read that new Macbook Pros with the mini-displayport...
