    Worth upgrading 1090T to 8320/8350?

Last week I went from a 1090T to a FX-8350 on my gaming box. At the resolution I play (2560 x 1440) there's nothing to be gained, performance wise. I ran benchmarks before and after, with exactly the same settings and in the games that I saw improvements, they were in the range of 3 to 5...

Keep 7950 or sell for 680 gtx?

Old sig. I returned the 7970 because it stopped working after a week and got a 7950.

Keep 7950 or sell for 680 gtx?

I have both the eVGA GTX 680 and a Sapphire 7950 975/1575 and I don't see any difference in real world gaming. I do notice that the AMD card has better IQ in general (better color reproduction, sharper text and better quality video on YouTube). Edit: I play on a Dell U2711 @ 2560 x 1440.

    triangle artifacts 7970

My 7970 started showing artifacts in some games and even when browsing the web. Then the PC wouldn't boot, failing to post while checking VGA. I sent the card back for a refund and got a 7950 which seems to be more stable so far.

    Sapphire 7970: PC won't boot

I took the risk and got a Sapphire 7950 vanilla edition. Put it in and my PC booted, confirming that the 7970 I had was defective. I overclocked the card using Trixx to 1000/1575 and now I get 7970 performance for $100 less. Let's see how long it lasts lol.

    Sapphire 7970: PC won't boot

As my Sapphire 7970 is on its way back to Amazon for a refund, I'm starting to suspect that there's something potentially wrong in the board's design/manufacture. A quick search for "7970 DOA" or something of the sorts returns quite a few hits everywhere from overclockers.net to Tom's forums...

    Sapphire 7970: PC won't boot

Lol I was just thinking the same thing. Maybe I should focus less on hardware and more on the games.

    Sapphire 7970: PC won't boot

My biggest problem is that I sold the 6970 this card had replaced. I guess I'll have to stick to my PS3 in the meantime. Not sure if I can get used to playing BF3 on the console after experiencing it in full glory on the 7970...

    Sapphire 7970: PC won't boot

I have Windows 7 Pro. I just packed the card and will send it back for a refund, as Amazon doesn't have it in stock. I wonder if I should get the 7950 instead and save $100, or maybe wait for Keppler. I have owned around 20 video cards from different manufacturers over the years and this is...

    Sapphire 7970: PC won't boot

I recently upgraded to a Sapphire 7970 that I purchased at Amazon. Yesterday night I was browsing the web when artifacts started appearing on the screen. I rebooted the pc and everything was fine until I fired up The Witcher 2. The main menu had black vertical lines and the screen was...

    GTX 580 or 6950 crossfire?

I think I'll stick to Ati cards because of eyefinity. I have 3 Dell 23" 1080p monitors lying around that I might want to use for Flight Simulator when the new 737 from PMDG comes out. What do u guys think about getting a 6970 and overclock for now and add another in the future if I feel the...

    GTX 580 or 6950 crossfire?

Up until last week I was running a 5870 and a 5850 in crossfire and was pretty much happy with the performance. After much reading and research, I decided to upgrade to dual 6950s because I saw the vast improvements at the resolution I play (2560x1440). So I went ahead and sold the 5850 on...

    3DMark11 Score

The 5870 is running at stock and the 5850 is overclocked to near-5870 speeds. I'm sure I could get a higher score if I oc'ed the CPU past 4Ghz. The Asus mobo is doing the automatic overclock and the CPU is watercooled but I don't feel like getting into the mobo's overclocking settings to get it...

    3DMark11 Score

Even though 3DMark reports 2 5870 in crossfire, they are actually a XFX 5870 and a Sapphire 5850.
