To Asus or Not to Asus? That is the question.

well it looks like i'm leaning towards a t60widescreen right now. its in the price range and my work can lease it for me! ya for free stuff! and it looks like the t61 with a dedicated chipset isn't arriving till july, so that's too long to wait. thanks for the tips!

To Asus or Not to Asus? That is the question.

Where do you find a t60p with the x1700? I've checked both the us and canadian site and the t60 doesn't have that option. and yes i'm in canada so i'd rather not have to order it from the states. it just adds too much cost. But I'm still leaning toward the AJ8S or maybe a dell latitude d620...

To Asus or Not to Asus? That is the question.

Any suggestion on which IBM might suit my needs? I couldn't find one that had a decent dedicated GPU with a 15" screen.

To Asus or Not to Asus? That is the question.

Ok, here's my problem. I need to get a smaller sized notebook so my wife can take it to work for a project she's doing. So a 12"-15" screen is a must. And of course I'm hoping to play some games on it, mainly WoW, so a dedicated gpu would be nice. I've been looking at an Asus G1 or an Asus AJ8S...

    667 v 800 ddr2

I've got an ASUS board, with ddr2-800 OCZ ram, i had to up my voltages to get it to boot with 2x1gb in. it worked fine with only 1 stick. have you tried upping the ram voltage? and if you can get the corsair ram for the same price, go for it. even if it runs at 667 instead, its still good ram...

    Microphone testing software?

make sure that you have the mic turned on in windows. i did that with mine and it dawned on me that it was muted. control panel>sounds & audio devices>audio tab>volume button under "sound recording" make sure that the right device is set to be recording and the volume is turned up enough.

    Real Time MP3 Encoding

ya, I'd love to stick with wav's, but our budget doesn't allow for unlimited HD space. Anyway, I don't think audiograbber does realtime, by realtime I mean, straight off the soundboard into a computer and then to MP3. I did find two things so far: http://stepvoice.com/...

    Real Time MP3 Encoding

Hey all, I'm in need of software, preferably free, that can do realtime MP3 encoding. Just to give you an idea what its for, at my church we want to throw away our tape deck, finally, and record straight to mp3. But it would be easier for the less computer literate on the sound crew if it was...

    DialUp Internet Sharing with win98

I know its sad, I still have dialup, and a computer running win98. but anyway, here's the problem. We have 2 computers, one with 98 and one with xp. the xp computer is not turned on all the time, its just too loud, so I want to set up the 98 box to be dialed in all the time. but the windows...
