Id say something like the audioengine a5 may be better in sq. But may not have has much bass due to lack of sub.
Something like the a2 and a sub qould be best of both worlds.
Decided to pick up the audioengine a2 for my bedroom. The a5 were just too big for my desk. and when trying them both in a store they sounded very comparable to me. The a5 just were able to get louder and had alittle more bass.
