Hey guys
I have two evga GTX 470 video cards that get pretty hot when gaming and only way to keep the temps down is blasting the fan at 80% or higher. I'm looking towards a water cooling solution for "ONLY" the video cards.
Does anyone have some prebuilt water cooling suggestions? Or even...
They were actually exactly 200 each. The perfomance outwieghs the price in my opinion. I was thinking about following this video. This guy places a backplate that has what looks like a thermal pad underneath and a high flow bracket.
What are your suggestions on this? Think it will cool any...
hey everyone, i ended up buying two evga GTX 470's SC since they were on sale.
These cards run great! however they get reeaal hot! anyone recommend a cooling solution for these cards?
I prefer SLI looking no more to spend 250 on each card. However if you have other suggestion please do share as well. I can probably reconsider my spending options. thanks man!
Hey DualOwn, I will try lowering the AA, i haven't tried that... Also what kind of video card would you suggest for SLI thats better then the GTX 260?
Also the clocks are the same after i applied, i took the screenshot before i applied.
Hey thanks, the reason they are clocked differently is because they are both different revisions. One of them is revision 0.0 and the other 1.0. However they are both 216 core. I use evga precision to clock them the same. I also agree i think the bottle neck is the video cards... any to answer...

Question guys!
I overclocked my 9800 gt , however when i overclock the video card (713mhz) my games start running slower, and i get less FPS. When i leave it at stock (650mhz) it runs real smooth and my FPS are decent.
Any clue why this is? or am i doing something wrong?
My cards idle at 39C personally i feel your pain. I hate running high temps.
Try replacing the thermal grease between the GPU and the heatsink. That will surely drop at least a couple Celsius on your GPU.
I resolved my issue.
I bought some Antec Formula 5
Applied it on both cards, took about a day to start breaking in and already my video cards both idle at 36 C.
That's a big difference. =] from 60 C :D
