Hi, I'm not too sure whether it's appropriate to start the thread here but I guess this is probably THE place in [H] for something like this.
Basically I'm planning to do modding work for mices. I currently have a logitech MX400 which has the body I absolutely loved to death. However, the...
I've just found out that the crash is not related to CPU overclocking. The GPU by default (visiontek HD3870) is down-volted (from 1.324 to 1.3V) and overclocked. So it's actually the GPU that's not getting enough voltage to run.
I've flashed it using atiwinflash to it's default reference core...
The small case's a pain to work around the case, but it looked pretty good considered the price I paid for the whole unit.
I'm looking to get a new HSF too. Reason below:
Update on my Dell:
So I've finally got a brand new PSU thinking that the random "Monitor No Signal" when playing a...
It's with the stock intel HSF. Idles at around 25'c at peaks out at 60'c on load. The fan is audible idle and very loud when you stress the cpu on orthos.
I'll have an excuse for a free upgrade :D. I really liked the Dell case too.
The extra voltage won't really hurt the CPU and...
Is the general computing experience (surfing the net, word processing etc.) good with the TV? I might consider getting a big HDTV to replace my 19" monitor.
The article's pretty flawed.
Depending on the resolutions and settings you game on. Basically if you're unlikely to stress the GPU, ie gaming on 12xx X 10xx then you're going to see quite a bit of difference. At 2.2GHZ it won't cut it though. Some people also think that high CPU power is need...
Probably last long enough for my next upgrade. The voltage is within the safety limit set by intel and load temperature on orthos never get over 60'c even with stock cooling.. It's all good (fingers crossed)...
E4500 is roughly equivalent to an 2.6 - 2.8GHZ athlon 64 x2 at gaming. When overclocked to 3GHZ it destroys anything AMD as to offer on their Athlon 64 x2 range.
Power consumption is also lower.
But comparing to fellow intel chips, it's not generally as overclockable as the M0 E2XXX series...
Does anyone know whether corsair does UK warranty so I don't have to RMA the thing all the way back to the US? I was looking at the Antec earthwatt and some Enermax psu and apparently they don't have a good long term profile. Corsair looks to be the best of the bunch...
Now I'm in for more trouble. It seems that the Ultra PSU only gives 16A on 12+ Rail which is not enough to feed the Radeon 3870. I'm in need for a new PSU as the monitor gets 'No signal' from time to time.
400W will be enough, it should supply at least 26A on 12+ Rail. Reliability and...
