Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
BTW, problem fixed....it was 2 issues:
1. quad video card froze up the OS install
2. then bios was set to boot from USB first, SDD second, DVD third....so evern after \i sapped the video card it was trying to load the corrupt windows from the hard drive instead of the windows disc...
USB version of liveCD did not work with the quad video card..it froze while doing what appears to be the loading of drivers. I swapped the quad video card for a dual card and then the liveCD worked. I left that video card installed, and tried the Windows 7 CD and I still go through the enless...
Now I have a new problem!!!
I purchased the following: MTI P67A-GD55 Motherboard, Intel i5-2400 CPU, Intel 320 series Sata II SSD Drive, 8gb DDR3 1333 G.Skill Ram, and Windows 7 Pro 64 bit from Newegg. I am reusing a single Nvidia PVS 440 quad monitor card.
I installed the equipment...
Thank you to everyone for the help. Equipment purchased from newegg:
Intel i5, Intel SSD, 8gb Ripjaw Ram, Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, MSI GD55 mobo, Hyper 212, Artic Silver 5
I'm looking forward to the builds. I do have one additional question. For some of the other machines in the office I am...
I just opened the second machine and found out I made a mistake. There is one 8800 GTX running the 30" monitor at 2560x1600, and a 8600GT running the two 20" portrait monitors at 1200x1600. I have no experience with SLI so i have no idea if this would be an advantage for me.
Should I:

I think we may also go with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit so we can up the ram to 8GB, might go with the i5 instead of the i7. Do you have any brand recommendations on the ram?
We are leaning toward a SSD solution, 128GB should be plenty, I will look at the Crucials and Intels, thank you.
For the CPU, i5 may be fine. What mobo do you recommend?
I think we will leave the video cards alone for now.
I am looking to upgrade 2 computers for business use. Most of our backend systems are browser based, except for an order management program that runs a SQL database with the data stored on our file server. We run a gigabit network with dell 2724 switches. We were running nForce 680i SLI mobos...
The domain server, is this a separate, second server, or just upgraded software on the main & only server? Also, the 20 units is for the initial operations, and we hope to expand to 60 stations within 12-18 months. Does this fact change what i should buy now, or with this Domain server will i...
Thank you all for the replies, but i did look into the Dells, and a Vostro Desktop with a E7200, vista business, 2gb ram, 80gb HD, and ATI 2400 XT GPU, no monitors, specs out at $613.00, plus sales tax, which is more money than building the machine i spoke about, which will be about $575.00...
I am opening up a small call-center to tele-market various products. I need help building a small computer network, Avaya phone system, and possibly help with a predictive dialer. Budget isnt so much a factor as great aesthetics and reliability.
